Digital analytics software company Amplitude has announced the acquisition of app user engagement startup Command AI. Most of Command AI's 30-person team will join Amplitude, including co-founder and CEO James Evans.
One source revealed that the transaction value exceeded US$45 million. Evans said that an acquisition was not something they planned, but they are very excited about the merger with Amplitude and believe they can grow faster and attract more users.
Command AI’s product portfolio includes in-app search bars, chatbots, and AI co-browsing. A recently developed tool, Nudge Autopilot, automatically displays "alerts" to users based on metrics. Command AI's technology will enable Amplitude to provide "personalized user assistance" through in-product tours, onboarding experiences and more.
Early next year, Command AI will launch checklists and guides for Amplitude, allowing customers to create app and website action plans and interactive product tours. Announcements is another feature Command AI is bringing to Amplitude, which will allow customers to set "smart triggers" within the app for things like updates and special offers.
Amplitude claims to have more than 2,700 paying customers, including 26 Fortune 100 customers.
Evans sees this integration as a natural evolution for Command AI, which has been working with Amplitude for some time. He said that there is a very tight cycle between tools that help users understand user behavior (Amplitude) and tools that help users influence user behavior (Command AI). Once the deal closes, Evans will become Amplitude's director of product, while Ayala will become director of engineering.
This acquisition marks an important step for Amplitude in the field of user experience. By integrating Command AI's technology and team, Amplitude will further consolidate its market leadership and provide customers with more powerful and comprehensive user behavior analysis and optimization solutions. . We look forward to Amplitude bringing more innovations in the future.
