Are you ever tired of the effects of the original potion? Want something new and fun? Then this MOD is perfect for you! The potion core contains a bunch of potion effects. There's no way to get potions outside of the creative menu in this mod, but look at Not Enough Potions, which has a crafting table and new brewing mechanics.
There are many added potion effects, including:
attack:
Realistic Shooting - Increased projectile damage (like how Strength increases melee damage). Wooden Man - reduces projectile damage (like how weaknesses mitigate melee damage). Magic Focus - Increases magic damage (like how Strength increases melee damage). Magic Suppression - Reduces magic damage (like how Weakness reduces melee damage). Bounce - Reflects a portion of the damage back to the attacker. Explosion - Causes you to explode, but does no damage to you (only your enemies). Explode - Make you explode. Burn - Make you burst into flames. Lightning - Strikes you with lightning. Launch - Shoots you out of the air.
defense:
Vulnerability - Increases all damage done to you (like how resistance reduces all damage done to you). Broken Armor - Reduces your armor Iron Skin - Increases your armor Diamond Skin - Increases your armor toughness Magic Shield - Protects you from magic damage (usually unstoppable) Strong Core - Gives you counterattack resistance. Rejuvenation - If you die from such an effect, you will regain 2 hearts per level.
utility:
Slow Down - Slows down your fall, preventing some fall damage at level 1 and all damage at level 2. Step Up - Increase your step height so you can speed up a full block. Reach - Increase your distance. Climb - Lets you climb up walls like a spider. Corrosion - Damages your armor and held items (except gold items/armor). Repair - Repair your armor and items. Flying - Lets you fly like in creative mode. Random Teleport - Teleports you to a nearby location. Surface Teleport - Teleports you to the top surface block. Monster Spawner Teleport - Teleports you to your spawn point if you last 10 seconds. Love - Causes fertile entities to reproduce with each other. Antidote - Protects you from poison damage. Purity - Prevents you from taking more damage.
other:
Drowning - Allows you to breathe underwater. Weight - Negative jump boost; preventing it from jumping a full block. Cleanup - Cleans out your inventory Puzzle - Inverts your controls so forward is backwards, sneaky jumps etc. Extension - Prevents your other potions from ticking every time. Basically doubles the length of your other potion. Chance - Gives you a random potion effect (which may be good or bad). Blessing - Gives you a random potion effect. Curse - Gives you a random bad potion effect. Cure - Clears you of all bad potion effects. Dispel - Removes all good potion effects from you. Invert - reverse all potions (like Regeneration -> Blight, Strength -> Weakness, etc.). Potion Disease - Disabled by default. The chance of giving you a random bad potion effect is low.
It also changes the way several vanilla potions work:
Blindness - Now the fog gradually gets closer (making you more blind), it also affects mobs so they won't attack you unless you get close to them. Jump Boost - You can control the height of your jump by holding down the space bar, so you can jump a block instead of shooting into the air.
There are several new properties (can be applied to armor and tools):
Projectile damage:
Property Name: potioncore.projectileDamage Default: 1 Range: 0 - 2048 What it does: Represents your projectile damage from bows, thrown items, etc. used by archery and klutz potions.
Magic Damage: Property Name: potioncore.magicDamage Default: 1 Range: 0 - 2048 What it does: Represents your magic damage, where vanilla minecraft just throws damage/healing potions. Used by magic focus and magic prohibition potions.
high jump :
Property name: potioncore.jumpHeight Default value: 1 Range: 0 - 2048 Its role: Represents the height you can jump. Used in weight and vanilla beat lifting potions.
Digging speed:
Property name: potioncore.digSpeed Default value: 1 Range: 8.1E-4 - 2048 Its role: Represents your mining speed. Used for vanilla haste potions (mining fatigue is not used as the effect is not linear).
Reach: Property name: potioncore.reach Default value: 4.5 Range: 0 - 2048 What it does: Represents your reach. Use the arrival potion.
Step high :
Property name: potioncore.stepHeight Default: 0.6 Range: 0 - 256 Its role: Represents how high you can go. Used to strengthen potions.
Damage resistance :
Property name: potioncore.damageResistance Default value: 1 Range: -2048 - 2 What it does: Represents your damage resistance, where 1 is normal, 2 is 100% resistance, and values below 1 will reduce your damage resistance resistance. Potions for vulnerability and resistance to vanilla.
Magic shield:
Property Name: potioncore.magicShielding Default: 0 Range: 0 - 20 What it does: Represents your magical "armor", which protects you from magic damage (since magic damage penetrates normal armor). Used by the Magic Shield Potion.
There's also a new potion bot, Potion Sickness , which limits how many beneficial potions you can drink at once (if you don't want to get too much power). After you reach a certain amount of good potion effects, you get potions, which rarely give you bad potion effects as long as you have them. So if you're too greedy, you can blow yourself up. Disabled by default; you can enable it in the configuration file.
Most settings can be enabled/disabled/modified in the configuration file.
