The name of the Echelon resource pack would initially lead one to think that it was an elaborate resource pack meant to revamp the game's visuals, but that's not actually the case. This pack is actually built for editing Minecraft's default visuals to make them brighter and more active. This particular version of the Echelon resource pack has just surfaced, but it's worth mentioning that this pack was originally designed by RealGoran and actually surfaced some time later, but was eventually discontinued. Fortunately, VirtualPhillip has decided to pick it up and continue to update it to ensure it is up to date with modern Minecraft standards.
Regarding the details of the textures, the Echelon resource pack is an absolute joy. The first thing you'll notice is that it comes with a brighter palette than the vanilla one and seems to focus on gold to make the visuals clear. One minor quibble we have is the fact that it doesn't handle noise in an efficient way, so some textures look a bit cluttered, but luckily this is a fairly minor issue that shouldn't hinder your experience of all this .
The solution for the Echelon resource pack is standard x16, which is why you can take advantage of this resource pack and not have to worry about any framerate issues, as long as you play Minecraft on a PC that can run the vanilla version without hassle.
