The X platform has launched a new image generator called Aurora within its Grok assistant, developed by xAI and trained on massive Internet data. This generator has photorealistic rendering capabilities, can accurately follow user instructions, and can even edit or obtain creative inspiration based on images provided by users. Although it was temporarily removed from the shelves after its initial launch, it has now returned and plans to be open to all users within this week.
Recently, social network "X" (formerly Twitter) quietly launched a new image generator in its Grok assistant called Aurora. While the generator was taken down shortly after its launch, it has now made a comeback and has been officially announced to be rolling out to all users this week.
Aurora was developed by Elon Musk's artificial intelligence xAI. After training on billions of Internet samples, Aurora excels in generating high-quality images.
According to xAI’s introduction in the blog, Aurora can not only perform excellent photorealistic rendering, but also accurately follow the user’s text instructions, and can even get inspiration from or directly edit images provided by the user.
Aurora is currently available in some countries in X's Grok Assistant and is scheduled to be rolled out to all users within a week. Editing support for existing images will also be added in the future.
xAI says Grok is now able to produce high-quality images covering multiple areas that other image generation models often struggle to handle. Aurora accurately renders the visual details of real-world entities, including text, logos, and can generate realistic portraits of people.
Aurora was tested over the weekend and found to have few limitations, allowing users to request the generation of public and copyrighted characters. Aurora's performance isn't perfect either. On social media, users have posted images from Aurora that show objects blending unnaturally together or characters without fingers (hand generation has always been a problem for image generators).
The launch of Aurora marks X's further exploration in the field of AI image generation. Although there are currently some flaws, its potential and functions are exciting.

Highlight:
️ Aurora is X's new image generator, developed by xAI, with photorealistic rendering capabilities.
? It is currently online in some countries and is expected to be promoted to all users within a week.
? Testing found that images generated by Aurora sometimes have unnatural blending and lack of character details.
All in all, Aurora demonstrates X's ambitions in the field of AI image generation. Although it still needs improvement, its powerful potential and convenient application methods are worth looking forward to. Updates and feature improvements in future versions will further enhance user experience.
