Samsung announced at CES 2025 that its TV products will be equipped with the much-anticipated real-time translation function. This will be the first time this function has been applied to the TV field after mobile phones and tablets. This new feature aims to break down language barriers and make TV shows more accessible to viewers around the world. Samsung showcased its latest advancements in artificial intelligence and accessibility, working to provide users with a more convenient and inclusive viewing experience.
At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Samsung announced that it will introduce a popular mobile phone and tablet feature to its TV products-Live Translate. This feature is designed to provide users with real-time live translation services, making it easier for viewers in different languages to enjoy the program.
The real-time translation function supports seven languages, although it is not yet clear which seven languages are. The technology works by translating subtitles within a show, rather than translating the audio directly. Since first launching on the Galaxy S24 phone in early 2024, the real-time translation feature has supported 13 languages on mobile devices, while the TV version has chosen to start in a more basic seven languages.
In addition, Samsung has also launched artificial intelligence-based voice removal and audio subtitle functions, paying special attention to the visually impaired group. This feature aims to provide a smoother viewing experience by analyzing subtitles, isolating human voices, and adjusting reading speed. Such technology is obviously a benefit for viewers who need to rely on subtitles, especially those with visual impairments.
These two new features will be launched in the 2025 TV series, but it has not yet been revealed whether compatibility updates will be made to older TVs, which also makes many old users look forward to and confused.
Samsung will hold a CES2025 press conference at 2 pm (Pacific time) this Monday, and more details will be announced at that time.
The new features released by Samsung at CES 2025 not only reflect its technological innovation, but also demonstrate its emphasis on user experience and inclusivity. More details will be announced at an upcoming press conference, so we'll have to wait and see.
