Spotify and Google Gemini launch a new music playback function. Users can control Spotify through natural language instructions to achieve convenient music search and playback. At present, this function supports searches through song names, artists, album names or playlist names, but it does not support the creation of playlists or radio stations on Spotify.
Spotify users can now expand through Google's generative AI assistant Gemini and request music in natural language requests. According to the 9TO5Google report, the function first appeared in the Google application code in June for the first time, and is now being gradually launched to the compatible Android devices.
Using this extension, users can find and play music through song names, artists, album names or play list names, but Gemini currently does not support creating a playlist or radio on Spotify. One thing to pay attention is that if the user associates multiple music services (such as YouTube Music), when the initial request, the user needs to clearly point out which service wants to use, and Gemini will use the service of the last time by default.
After the launch of WhatsApp support in October, Spotify became the second non -Google application supported by Gemini expansion.
According to Google's extension support page, users need to associate Spotify and Google accounts and enable Gemini Apps Activity to use this feature. This setting will allow AI to query for up to 72 hours. However, Spotify extensions are currently not available in Google Messages, Gemini network applications or Gemini applications on iOS, and only in the Gemini language are effective in English.
