At the main forum of the Wuzhen Summit of the 2024 World Internet Conference, Alibaba Group CEO Wu Yongming delivered a speech on the company's strategy in the artificial intelligence era.
Wu Yongming pointed out that Alibaba is committed to doing two things: first, continuously improving artificial intelligence infrastructure and related support systems; second, adhering to open source and openness, cooperating with ecological partners, and transforming AI capabilities into productivity in all walks of life.
In the past year, Alibaba has invested heavily in AI infrastructure construction, driving down the cost of computing power through scale effects and technological progress. For example, the call price of Tongyi Qianwen API has dropped by 97% in one year, and the cost of calling a million tokens has dropped to as low as 50 cents.
Wu Yongming emphasized that Alibaba is committed to open source the latest and most comprehensive self-developed large models to the entire industry and the world, so as to promote the prosperity and development of the AI ecosystem. Currently, there are more than 78,000 derivative models based on the secondary development of Tongyi Qianwen.
Alibaba's strategy clearly demonstrates its ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence. Through continued investment and open cooperation, Alibaba is actively leading the development of artificial intelligence technology and contributing to the global AI ecosystem. Its initiatives to reduce computing power costs and open source large models will greatly promote the popularization and application of AI technology.
