Many webmasters have a big misunderstanding, that is, they cherish connections like gold and are afraid that their website will connect to other websites.
In fact, there is no need to worry about this. In many cases, intentionally not linking to other websites can be harmful. Of course, I am referring to exporting links that are logical and meet the needs of users, rather than selling links to other unrelated websites, or connecting to other websites in a messy manner.
A big reason for this misunderstanding is that many webmasters are afraid that connecting to other websites will affect the PR of this site. In fact, theoretically speaking, exporting links does not affect the PR of this web page. The PR value of any given URL is determined by the number of reverse connections and the PR brought over, and has nothing to do with the exported connection.
If you have to worry about it, exporting the link will only affect the PR of the current page to a very small extent. If there is one more link to other websites on the page, the PR passed by other internal links to this website will be reduced, and the PR transferred back to the current page by other websites on the website will also be reduced accordingly. However, the impact of this multiple passes is also quite small.
There are more reasons why you should link to other websites:
1. The essence of the Internet is hyper-connection. Without connections, there would be no Internet. If no one connected, the website would become an isolated island and would be meaningless. This spirit and essence will never disappear, and will always be respected by search engines. If your website does not have an export link, that is a very strange thing and is likely to be suspected.
2. Connecting text is an important factor in ranking. Including keywords in export links is one of the important factors in on-page optimization. If a web page A uses "online shopping" as the linking text to connect to web page B, the search engine's reasonable inference is that web page A is also related to "online shopping" and will reference other online shopping content.
3. Exporting links to authoritative and related websites itself is one of the search engine ranking factors. The importance of this factor was not very obvious two or three years ago, and it was not recognized by everyone. Now this factor can be felt, although search engines do not explicitly confirm this.
An obvious example is that after an algorithm update called Florida, a large number of classified website directories appeared in Google's search results, including some open directories. The essence of these categories is a large number of export links to other websites. The improvement in the rankings of these category directory websites should be evidence that Google has increased the importance of exported links to an excessive level.
Two or three months after the Florida algorithm was updated, Google made some adjustments, probably reducing the importance of export links, so that these directories were ranked later. After all, people search for websites that provide relevant information, not other search engines and directories.
