Mr. Otto von Chesterfield, Esquire[1], referred to as Chester. is a creature in Don't Starve Together.
1. There are two upgraded versions of Chester: Shadow Chester and Ice Chester.
2. Chester is a passive creature similar to a mobile storage box. Players can click to open Chester and store up to 9 items inside.
3. When the player puts the eye bone into the inventory, Chester will appear.
4. From this point on, Chester will always follow the eye bones.
5. As long as the eye bone is still on the player's body, Chester will always follow the player.
6. If the eye bone is placed on the ground or stored somewhere (even in Chester itself), Chester will no longer follow the player and stay at the location of the eye bone.
7. Chester will naturally recover his health at a rate of 22.5 points every 3 seconds.
8. When Chester dies, he will drop all stored items and the eye bones will close their eyes.
9. If he dies from burning, all combustible items will also be burned to ashes by fire.
10. Chester will be resurrected after 1 game day and return to the location of the eye bone.
1: Ordinary Chester
1. Chester is a movable box. It has nine grids and moves with the eye bones.
2. When damaged, Chester will recover health at a rate of 22.5/3s.
3. When it is killed, all currently stored items will be dropped. When it dies due to burning, all combustible items will be turned into ashes and dropped.
4. No matter where the eye bone is, Chester will be reborn after one game day.
2: Shadow Chester
1. Shadow Chester is an upgraded version of Chester. When the following conditions are met, Chester will be upgraded to Shadow Chester.
2. The moon phase is full moon.
3. Enter the night.
4. Fill each square in Chester with at least one nightmare fuel.
When the conditions are met, Chester will consume all Nightmare Fuel and change his appearance, upgrading to Shadow Chester.
1. Shadow Chester will be connected to the "Shadow Dimension Storage Space" in the world, which is a storage space with 12 inventory slots.
2. Items with freshness placed in it will rot at a rate of 1.5 times, but unique items cannot be stored.
3. Stored items such as Pivolo's Cowbell and Magma Bug Fangs will temporarily lose the effect of causing bound creatures to follow them.
4. It is different from other containers such as Chester, because these items are located in the shadow dimension, not "Shadow Chester".
5. The items stored in it will not be dropped due to Shadow Chester being killed or attacked.
6. Creatures such as bear badgers that have the ability to interact with containers will not interact with Shadow Chester.
7. The Magician's Top Hat and Magician's Box can also be connected to this "Shadow Dimension Storage Space", and players can store items in the box.
8. Then take it from the Magician's Top Hat or Magician's Box in the same world.
9. Other characteristics and habits will not change.
10. If Shadow Chester is killed, it will turn back into normal Chester after rebirth.
Three: Ice and Snow Chester
1. Snowchester is an upgraded version of Chester. When the following conditions are met, Chester will be upgraded to Snowchester.
2. The moon phase is full moon.
3. Enter the night.
4. Fill each grid of Chester with at least 1 sapphire.
5. When the conditions are met, Chester will consume all sapphires and change its appearance, upgrading to Snow Chester.
6. The special thing about Ice and Snow Chester is that it can act as a portable refrigerator.
7. It will slow down the decay of food and other items (2 times the preservation time). It can cool warm stones, but ice cannot be preserved permanently.
8. Other characteristics and habits will not change. If Ice Chester is killed, it will turn back into ordinary Chester after rebirth.
1. Except for being mistaken for an enemy at first sight, Chester itself does not pose any threat to players.
2. Eye bones are basically only generated in grasslands, pond areas, pig village forests, and swamps. The first three are areas where they appear with probability.
