A little personal summary of how to get started as a webmaster. I hope it will help newcomers and experts avoid it.
1. On the homepage, you have to understand why you are building a website?
Fun? Making money? Hobby? Basically 80% of website creation is for making money.
2.Select the website type?
A: Finance, stocks, financial websites, etc. are suitable for placing GG, Baidu ads, etc.
B: E-commerce. The profit model is clear, one sale makes one profit.
C: Download sites. When building download sites, you need to consider space costs and profit methods.
D: Audio and video sites, now is the time for GOV to crack down on the D version, so we should do as little as possible.
3.Choice of domain name?
Try to register a new domain name and do not buy second-hand goods from Minong. First of all, good rice is basically taken away by rice farmers. If you go to rice farmers, rice farmers are all big-mouthed guys. If you don’t kill them, who will you kill? I suggest the webmaster to make a new bet and tell rice farmers to go away. Bar!
To register a domain name abroad, you can choose godaddy. Now Yahoo seems to have a COM service for more than ten yuan, which is good. If you are in China, try to choose Yiming. My website is registered with Yiming, but the disadvantage of Yiming is that it does not allow forwarding. Find a gold medalist to bet on your behalf, and then PUSH to your ID.
Then I have to talk about some SB-level people who are greedy for cheap and always post some on 286: I want to buy a domain name, who can get it cheap. These are SB level threads. I seriously BS this kind of SB-level characters. A COM is generally more expensive at 55 to 60 yuan, and no matter how cheap it is, it only costs about 40 yuan. Is there a difference of tens of dollars? When your domain name becomes expensive and the transfer fee is restricted or a high transfer fee is charged, you will post and complain again. For this kind of person, I can only say that you deserve it.
The so-called wild goose plucking its hair. IDC is not a charity. If you are a customer, you have to squeeze out some oil and water. The domain name will be given to you at cost price or at a loss in the first year. People will squeeze it out later.
Incident case: Not a cool incident!
4. Space selection?
The choice of virtual space has always been a headache for everyone. No one knows what services and speeds provided by the service provider before purchasing.
There are a few things webmasters need to do before purchasing space.
A Human flesh search: What needs to be searched include IDC domain name, IDC phone number, IDC name, and customer service QQ, etc. Also use Baidu search and GG search: XXX scammers, XXX garbage, etc. (Regarding this negative report, most IDCs will have public relations personnel to deal with it. Therefore, it is not very practical to search for XXX scammers, XXX garbage, etc.)
B is good at using tools: You can use the same IP query to query the IDC site, check the IDC domain name, and then ask customer service for the IPs of several servers to check how many sites are on the server. After querying, find a few of the above websites Open it and see if the speed is good. In addition, talk to the webmaster on the IP about whether IDC's service is good or not. There are also some webmasters who like to buy space at bargain prices. Webmasters must always understand one truth: you get what you pay for. Then consider the various aspects of space:
1. IIS You see, some IDCs have 100 blocks of space marked with 500 IIS and 1000 IIS. How many IISs does a server have in total? Will I really give you that much?
2. If the CPU limit is too low, it will not be easy to use. 1 space I purchased before. SU will appear when using DEDE background to convert HTML and backup database.
3. Traffic: Eighty percent of IDCs now claim to have unlimited traffic, but in fact they limit your bandwidth.
4. Bandwidth is the most important thing. If the bandwidth limit is XXXKbps, it will be useless no matter how much space you have. One server has dozens or hundreds of sites, how many can you get?
5. Space size: Nowadays, some show-type 10G, 20G and even unlimited space prices are around 100 yuan a year. What's the use. Does it look good?
6. When buying space, try to choose some older and older IDCs, which have matured in the market after several years. It's still quite okay. IDC, which has not been exposed to the market for one or two years, should try to maintain a wait-and-see attitude.
7. There is another incident that needs to be mentioned. When 286 is dealing with others or other matters, remember to check his previous posts. For example, how many IDs did Ranit get?
Websites: Duote Space, Green Space, Cheap Space Station, Golden Shield Data, etc. I remember there are others, but I forgot. Now I have a China Data 365IIS website. When I posted the post about free space on the T floor, Some SB users will post SB words like XX space is good when they visit the space. Can you please talk about it after you use up the space? There are also some SBs who bought other people's space and will come to 286 to post about how good the space is, how fast it is, etc. . Could you please tell me how good the space is after using it for a year? Do you know that it is easy to mislead others? Do you know?
Incident case: Liantuo! You used to brag a lot when you were behind the times, what happened?
5. Program selection?
Try to choose some programs that are officially being updated regularly. For some programs, the official website has closed down. If you don’t know the programming language, try not to use it. If a vulnerability breaks out in the program and you don’t know how to deal with it, pay someone to fix it. It's very. Choose something mainstream. The official way is to update normally. But if you know the programming language yourself, that's another matter.
6. Advertising placement?
When it comes to advertising alliances, try to use GG and Baidu. . I dare say that 90% of the current domestic leagues are rubbish. They are either serious deductions or some scammers. Here I will first BS the garbage alliance 733.com.
7. Server chapter?
The IDC market is now in chaos. Be careful when choosing IDC. IT computer products are very tricky. Be careful when purchasing!
Let’s talk about renting first. Nowadays, mainstream accessory platforms are dominated by Core 2 CPU, G41 G31 motherboard, 320G 500G 1TB. Products like P4 or PD were made before 2006, so think about it. What's wrong with renting a server with this type of configuration?
Hosting: Compared with renting, I still recommend that users configure their own servers for hosting. The price is still more affordable than renting.
There are three options for configuring the server:
A: If you have money, buy a branded machine.
B: Buy the complete machine assembled by the merchant.
C: Buy the accessories and assemble them yourself. If you don’t have the ability, forget it. You can consider going to JD.com or YiXun for price reference. From 1U chassis, 1U power supply to E5420 CPU, everything is qualified.
If you buy a complete machine or accessories yourself, or rent an IDC machine, you can also use CPU-Z and HD Tune for testing, as well as EVEREST.
PS: There is basically no price difference between 160G disks and 320G disks. If IDC claims that the server is new, you can check it with HD Tune and you will know how old the hard disk is.
It's limited by personal expression ability and time issues. If it's not well said or there are typos, please just make do with it.
