In the process of PS portrait retouching, we often encounter the problem of overexposed highlights in the image, which seriously affects the beauty of the image.
Here is a simple method to solve similar problems, I hope it can be inspiring to everyone.
The material is applied first, it is not smoothed and the color does not seem to be quite right. I will skip the microdermabrasion and color adjustment and just use the microdermabrasion processed ones for the tutorial.

The steps are as follows:
1. First analyze the original image: the quality of this image has been greatly improved after microdermabrasion, but the green arrow leaves strong highlights, which affects the overall image.
2. Duplicate the background layer, select the menu: Select > Color Balance, set the tolerance and range, and then use the eyedropper to click on the over-brightened highlights of the image to select the overexposed selection.
3. Add a layer mask and change the layer blending mode to "Multiply". Since "Multiply" will darken the image, but due to the protection of the mask, it will only darken the area we selected without affecting other places. In order to make the transition between light and dark areas normal, execute: Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, set the value, and then appropriately reduce the opacity of the layer. The overexposure problem will be improved to a certain extent.
4. If you feel it is necessary to continue to reduce the overexposure, make a copy of the layer you just processed to further darken the highlights.
