The background of the original image in this tutorial is relatively simple in tone, making it easier to cut out the image. When using channel cutout, in order to better cut out the details of the hair, the range of color adjustment should not be too large to avoid losing the details of the hair.

1. Open the original image material, click on the channel panel, and copy the blue channel to one layer, as shown in Figure 1.

2. Press Ctrl + L to adjust the color level of the blue channel copy and make it slightly brighter. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 2, and the effect is as shown in Figure 3. In order to maintain as much hair detail as possible, the brightness should be very high but not too large.

3. Press Ctrl + M to adjust the light and dark contrast. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 4, and the effect is as shown in Figure 5. At this point, the hair behind the character is basically very clear, and the hair in front still has a background color.

4. In the red circle position in the picture below, the hair and background color are processed in batches.

5. Use the lasso tool to outline the selection shown in Figure 7, press Ctrl + Alt + D to feather 5 pixels, press Ctrl + L to adjust the color level, set the parameters as shown in Figure 8, and the effect is as shown in Figure 9. Although it is possible to remove the gray background in one step, a lot of hair detail will be lost.
