Final effect preview:
first step:
First of all, find the material you want. It will be much more convenient if you choose a picture with a black background, saving you the trouble of cutting out the picture, hehe.
In this tutorial, I set up a brush, which I found to be quite useful.
Step two:
After preparing all the materials, it's time to start our work. Open the picture of the face, hold down ALT + double-click, this will unlock the background layer, and name it "face", because I don't want it to be the background layer, I want the background layer to be pure black, so create a new layer Fill it with pure black and name it: background, as shown below:
Step three:
Select the Photoshop Brush Tool (B) and use the "Splash Text Brush" we just downloaded. I suggest you choose a brush with more words. I chose size 22. Create a new layer. We will use our brush on this layer. The shortcut key for creating a new layer is CTRL+SHIFT+N. As for the size of the brush, you can set it to the maximum, which is 2500 pixels. Once you have mastered it, you can use whatever brush size you want, as long as it makes the image look layered (large, small, etc.). As shown below:
It seems that I forgot to mention using white as the brush color. This is how the author used it.
Step 4:
Now this step is more critical, the legendary transformation of decay into magic. Select the layer that you just made with the brush (deliberately typed incorrectly to see if the children's shoes reproduced have not been corrected, the photoshop tutorial is originally translated by ps real kung fu), load them into the selection, how to do it, hold down CTRL + left click , if ant lines appear on the text in the layer, it means it is selected. The brush used earlier is for this selection.
Keep it selected, go back to the "face" layer, and press CTRL+J to copy the selected part of the face. I named this layer: Cameleon (I don’t know what this means). Okay, you can delete the layer where you just used the brush, so that you can see the difference between before and after. You can also hide the "face" layer and see what the result will be. Has a new face emerged? As shown below:
Step 5:
When you have mastered the third and fourth steps, the following operations are just to repeat the previous steps. If you don't understand, you can go back and take a look. If you still don’t understand, please leave a message and I’ll answer all your questions. Continue to repeat the above steps until our new face looks more like a face, haha. I repeated it almost 8 times before it felt OK.
Oh, and don’t forget to group those faces made of text into groups. Layer - New - Layer Group. Rename it to "Letters" and drag all the text layers into that group, as shown below:
Step 6:
To give the text layers more depth, you can add some shadows to them. Find a layer in the Letters group, double-click it, enter the blending options panel, select Shadow, and select Multiply as the mode, 90% Opacity, 30 Angle, 8px Distance, and 5ps Size.
After you make the shadow of this layer, the shadows of other text can directly copy its layer style from this layer. The specific method is: right-click, select Copy Layer Style in the pop-up menu, and then directly copy the layer style of other text images. Right-click on the layer and select Paste Layer Style in the pop-up menu and OK. As shown below:
