We have seen many Photoshop tutorials teaching you how to create chrome text effects. In this tutorial, we'll take a step closer and learn how to create a colorful chrome text effect. First, we need a thick, rounded font. Then create a new document with dimensions of 500px x 500px. A dark gray background is good. Don't choose the black one because we're going to adjust this part later. Write BIG on the new layer using a font size of about 190pt. As shown below:
Double-click the font layer to open the Layer Styles window. Click Gradient Overlay to create a gradient and set it as shown below:
We will need the following 6 colors (from left to right):
1. #bedeec
2. #bcb7d7
3. #f0c9d7
4. #f5c8b5
5. #f5f2ca
6. #dff3fe
Now we can get the effect of the following picture:
Go back to the Layers panel, click Glossy, and use the following settings:
Now the effect we get should look like this:
