There are many methods for skin resurfacing and whitening on characters, and they don’t necessarily have to be the same as the author’s. Try it yourself. Mastering a set of practical methods can save us a lot of valuable time.

1. Open the original image material, press Ctrl + J to copy one layer, and execute: Image > Adjustment > Auto Levels, Auto Contrast, Custom Color.
2. Press Ctrl + J to copy a layer, click the Channel panel, copy the blue channel to a layer, and execute the blue copy filter: Filter > Others > High Contrast Preservation, the value is 10, and then execute: Image > Adjust > Threshold, set the value to 125, and press Ctrl + I to invert after confirmation.
3. Set the foreground color to black, select the brush tool, and set the opacity to 100%. Erase the hair, eyes, eyebrows, nostrils, clothes, and background lights. Execute: Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, with a value of 0.5. The effect is as shown below.

4. Return to the layers panel and press Ctrl + Alt + 4 to load the selection.
5. Keep the selection and create a Curves adjustment layer, and brighten it slightly.

6. Create a new layer, press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E to stamp the layer, use the Portraiture filter to reduce noise, and set the parameters as shown below.
