In this Photoshop tutorial I will show you how to transform an ordinary photo into a golden sunset prairie scene. It was inspired by a piece from the game Far Cry 2. We'll look at things like blending modes together. Image adjustment. Pen tool. Image filters, non-destructive photo editing and more. This tutorial is not complicated. Then let's come together.
first. Let’s take a look at the comparison before and after image processing. This is the original picture.
After processing.
Optional version.
Let's get started.
1
Open the original image in PS. Make 3 copies of the layer.
Set the layer blending modes of the 3 copies from top to bottom to:
superposition.
glare.
color.
The results are as follows.
2
Duplicate the background layer again. And move the copied layer to the top of all layers. Set up the surface blur as follows. Radius 8 pixels. Threshold 97 color levels.
Change the layer blending mode to Screen. This layer adds a glowing effect to the image.
3
Now we need to separate the sky from the image. This way our edits to the sky won't affect the rest of the image.
We now hide all duplicate layers. Return to the original background layer. Use the Pen Tool to draw a path to fill in the blanks.
Convert path to selection. The feathering value is 0.[If you are not proficient with the pen tool. You can also use a magic wand or pull out a filter for this step. Anyway, we have to get the sky selection area. ]
Copy the sky part to a new layer. Named "Sky". Move it to the top of all layers. [You can also use the Clone Stamp tool to modify the edges of the sky. Make it better integrate with the ground. ]
Use the Channel Mixer on the sky layer. Select Solid Color. The red channel adds 60%. Green plus 10%. Blue plus 85%.
