How to set the default location when Windows 7 Explorer starts? I'm not used to Win 7's Explorer always opening libraries by default. I still like Explorer to open tree directories, such as C: by default.
In the past, XP/Vista placed a quick launch toolbar on the taskbar, which contained ordinary shortcuts. I only needed to modify the properties of the resource manager shortcut and set the starting position. The taskbar of Win 7 now has the resource manager nailed to the taskbar. It is not the quick launch toolbar of the past. I don’t know how to set its starting position. After setting it by right-clicking, it is useless. It opens by default. Still a library.
Currently, when I want to open the tree directory, I can only click "Computer" directly in the start menu. How can I pin the computer to the taskbar? Even if I open Computer first and then pin it, the next time I open it via the pinned button it's still the Library. Thanks.
Answer: Based on your description, my understanding of this problem is: How to point the target of the resource manager in the toolbar to the computer instead of the library.
You can modify it to point to My Computer by following these steps:
1. Right-click on the Windows Explorer icon and the menu will expand
2. Right-click Windows Explorer in the menu again and click Properties.
3. Replace the target column with the following string
%SystemRoot%explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
4. Click OK
The next time I press this button it will turn on my computer.

There is no other way to do this except creating a startup shortcut for the resource manager. In other words, the folder that Winkey+e opens after startup cannot be defined.
