Existing configuration: W2K8 SP2 X86 + TFS2008RTM + SQL2005SP3
Expected configuration: W2K8 SP2 X86 + TFS2008SP1 + SQL2008SP1
In the past few months, I have seen many people fail many times and have been afraid to upgrade the TFS server because the entire Team's Source Code, Bug, Report, and SharePoint information are stored here. Seeing that TFS2010 RC has been released, I estimate that TFS 2010 RTM is not far away, and I feel itchy. The services and functions provided by SQL2005SP3 are indeed too few, and I need to upgrade, upgrade, and upgrade! !
Gather up the courage and start the upgrade work at around 1 p.m.:
1. Backup server. My TFS server is a virtual machine VM. Just copy the backup directly.
2. Install VSTS2008 SP1, 2:00PM - 2:45PM
3. Install TFS2008 SP1, 2:45PM - 3:30PM (it got stuck in the middle and I killed the process directly. I don’t know if there will be any sequelae)
4. Upgrade SQL2008SP1, 3:30PM - 6:30PM (The upgrade is very slow, some installation files are stored in the US, so the speed is slightly slower)
5. After all upgrades are completed, check whether general functions are available.
5.1, Reports -- Pass (Don’t worry if this works, haha, just worry about Report Service)
5.2, Source Code -- Pass
5.3, Bug Query -- Pass
5.4, Create New Team Project -- Pass
Done, no failure~~and not much joy
Looking forward to TFS 2010 RTM Release...
