My website program was not perfect, so I collected some articles and left them alone. Three years later, on the day of the official opening, the nearly completed website program was uploaded and all previously collected articles were deleted. In addition, the title, keywords and website description of the entire site were changed once, which resulted in a serious downgrade from Baidu.
The website has been on hold for 3 years and is finally officially open.
Because I am a webmaster, I have never thought about doing search optimization professionally like some SEOers. My website has been open for three years. At that time, I collected some articles and put them aside. I completed the website this year, in October 2010, and decided to officially open it on the 10th.
The day the website opens, it’s equivalent to a major revision
On the day my small site was officially opened, I uploaded the almost complete website program (both the program and the art were completed by myself), deleted the previously collected articles, and changed the title, keywords, and website description of the entire site. . But within three days of the change, I found that I was not very satisfied, so I decided to change it again.
Found out that Baidu had demoted the rights and lost motivation.
Because I work on a webmaster website, I manually select some webmaster-related articles every day and repost them to my small site. Therefore, I saw one or two articles mentioning that frequently changing titles will cause search engine power to be reduced. At this time, I began to feel uneasy, because the day my small site went online, it was equivalent to a major revision, and it might be regarded as a new site by search engines. So I check Baidu's inclusion status every day, but I am disappointed every time.
A week later, the Baidu snapshots on the homepage were finally updated, but the date was a week ago. There were no updates or inclusions for the next two weeks. I have read many articles about de-rating, and they all say that only updated content and so on. But after being demoted by Baidu, even if I know how to do it, I no longer have the motivation.
What I did during my demotion
During the period when my site was demoted by Baidu, I updated no more than 10 articles every day, and sometimes I didn’t update at all. I continue to write original articles, which can be published as soft articles or posted to my own website as original content. I tried to find several PR4 webmaster websites to exchange links, but none of them were willing to change. The Internet is more realistic than reality. Later I found some PR3 ones, PR2 ones and PR1 ones too.
The Baidu snapshot of the homepage was finally updated, and a miracle happened
On November 5th, almost a month before the site was opened, I found that the home page snapshot had been updated, and the date was October 25th.
The snapshot is still not the latest date, and I know the weight has still not been restored. In the evening, I checked the collection status as usual and found that the snapshot date was updated to November 5th! I was really excited and my motivation came back right away.
Then observe whether the weight of the first snapshot is really restored.
I thought to myself that the time difference between homepage snapshots would gradually shorten, improving in seven days, five days, three days, and one day. But on November 6th I found out it was updated again! I updated many articles that day, so in the evening I searched for an original article that had just been published, and was surprised to find my little site among the results! This article was published after the snapshot was updated that day, which broke my original idea that the fastest snapshot would be once a day.
Summarize
Having said this, I think novice webmasters who have been demoted by Baidu should not be discouraged. As long as they insist on updating content and building high-quality external links to increase their weight, they will definitely recover. Although the weight of my homepage has been restored, the internal pages are not included in Baidu, and the same is true for the original work, so I still have to continue to work hard, and the hard work will always be rewarded!
