Automattic, the parent company of WordPRess, recently launched a plug-in called Jetpack, which allows WordPress independent blog users to enjoy some functions of the wordpress.com blog without having to search for plug-ins with similar functions in the plug-in library.
WordPress.com has become one of the most impressive cloud architectures in the world. The blogs hosted on its platform have many features that independent WordPress blogs do not have.
But with Jetpack, independent blog users no longer have to envy wordpress.com users. To be precise, Jetpack is equivalent to a plug-in package that integrates the eight most requested functions: Gravatar Hovercards (floating personal business cards), WordPress.com Stats statistics, After the Deadline spell check, Twitter widgets, short codes, short links , Sharedaddy (quickly share to Facebook/Twitter/WordPress) and LATEX typesetting. Jetpack's functionality will be expanded in the future.
At the same time, Automattic is in contact with hosting providers such as Godaddy and DreamHost, hoping to use Jetpack as a pre-installed plug-in for new WordPress users. Currently, independent blog users can manually download and install Jetpack from the WordPress plug-in library.
Note: After Jetpack is successfully installed, previously downloaded plug-ins with similar functions will be disabled, so you may need to reset the plug-ins.
It is worth mentioning that Automattic stated in Jetpack’s FAQ:
Jetpack itself is free and will always remain free. Some personal features provided by Jetpack are free, but other paid features may be introduced in the future. There is no cost to install Jetpack
