We often come across this question many times: how to create an effective billboard so that it doesn’t get lost in a sea of billboards.
Here, I put forward 3 points. If you solve them all, maybe most of the problems will be solved.
Question (1): Get the user’s attention
When solving this problem, you should ask yourself: How is your attention usually drawn to it?
(1) When you drive to work, which advertisement on the car radio is more likely to attract your attention.
(2) Or when you are watching TV, which advertisement will make you unable to help but watch it for a while.
In the online world, there are six elements that can help us attract attention:
① Color (bright, eye-catching)
②Size (ad size, font size, picture size)
③Shape (circle, square)
④Dynamic (animation)
⑤Position (top, bottom, middle)
⑥Text (content and style)
Use the points above to give your billboard some bullets. If you want to stand out from your competitors, you have to do something.
Problem (2): Satisfy the user’s appetite
We already know how to attract users' attention, but we are only 10% away from wanting users to successfully click in. To truly arouse users' desire to click in, we must meet their current needs.
You are very smart. Because you are advertising on this site because you know your potential customers are there. But maybe you just checked the traffic statistics of the website, but forgot about the price view and consumption level of the users of this website.
Therefore, you need to do further processing on your billboard:
① Determine a demand topic, or a demand that already exists among these users with strong desires. (Your quotation should be in line with the user’s consumption habits)
②Establish association (show how valuable my product is to you)
③ Strengthen it (make them eager to buy it)
Remember, you are trying to distract people, so your message must be clear and concise. Maybe you don’t have time to elaborate, so you should deliver your advertising message like this: We have a solution for your problem.
Problem (3): Get the user to click on it
If you want people to click in, but there is no such call on the billboard, it is also a failure. Otherwise, users may not know that your billboard is actually clickable. So you must strengthen this function.
① Provide something: free gifts, promotions, or download information, etc.
② Design of the clickable part of the billboard: The button should be eye-catching, with blue underlined text (although it is not a text link).
③ Create a sense of dialogue with the viewer, just like the voicemail on a mobile phone: Zhang San, can you call me back? I have something to tell you. Billboards with an interactive feel tend to get more clicks because they make otherwise rigid billboards come alive.
If you want your billboard to get more effective clicks, you should address these three issues first. (over)
