Many SEO novices are asking, how do I add internal links to my blog posts? I also found that some friends attributed the good ranking of some of my blog articles to the internal links on my blog. I think this is one of the reasons. Today I’m going to explain how I usually add internal links to my blog posts.
1. Manually add blog links (do not use mass sending tools)
Just very old and stupid, I found the URL of the previous post on my blog, and then added it when writing the post. When I build a website, I usually prefer this clumsy method. Everyone has different characteristics. I hope that when building a website, I can do it step by step. It doesn't matter if you're slow and clumsy, but do it one by one without having to change the domain name after a while and start from scratch.
I remember that there were many mass-mailing software that could automatically detect specific keywords and add designated links to these keywords. But it is conceivable that such a method cannot be done naturally.
2. User experience should be given priority
Of course, you have your own purpose when adding internal links, such as facilitating the crawling of old posts, but the most important consideration is to facilitate readers to read previous posts and find more relevant information. So my posts often include words like "said before" and "click here" as links. It’s nothing more than making it easy for readers to click through and see what was said before.
(Example) My personal experience
I have two websites, one is a prohibited gambling website and the other is an SEO optimization website. Although my blog is mainly about SEO, you can feel that I am working hard to expand into the topics of banned gambling websites and SEO optimization. These two words are also what I hope to improve my ranking in the future. These two words are just one column in the blog. If you count from the root directory of the domain name, it is already a relatively deep directory, and its weight cannot be compared with other websites that specialize in these two aspects.
In terms of external links, when others link to it, it is either the blog homepage or a specific article page, and few people will link to the blog column page, so you can only rely on your own internal links to work hard. When mentioning these two words, as long as it is not annoying to readers, try to include internal links.
3. Adding SEO related keywords
When words related to SEO appear in the article, of course you know very well whether you have written related posts. As long as you have written relevant articles before, you will naturally think of linking to them.
There are many times when there is more than one related article. I usually directly search for this term in Google, see which of my articles ranks higher, and then link to this article until I push this article to the first place. . For example, words such as external links, 301 redirects, link bait, etc. are all done in this way.
After these corresponding pages have been ranked first, when similar words are mentioned again, change the wording, search in Google, see which article is ranked higher, and then promote that article. If you persist for a long time, the internal pages of many articles will also rank well. For example, after the word "category" is ranked first, it is changed to website, and after the word "affiliation plan" is ranked first, it is changed to website optimization.
4. Cleverly use inclusion to improve post rankings
This is also a very important aspect. While the blog structure is very neat, I also use a sitemap plugin that generates links to all posts. However, I found that the inclusion status of some article pages and PR delivery are still not very satisfactory, especially old posts. After some posts are reprinted, their rankings will exceed those of the original posts here. Although there are only a few of them, when I find such posts, I will consciously make more internal links to them. Practice has proven that this can effectively improve the ranking of these old posts.
