July 23, 2011, the first K station experience in my career as a webmaster, undoubtedly made this day deeply imprinted in my mind. I didn’t dare to think whether the site I had carefully built for 3 months would be wasted overnight. However, I know that as webmasters, we should not complain about Baidu, because complaining is in vain. Instead of spending time complaining there, it is better to seize the time to analyze the reasons for the K station and take timely response strategies.
There are only a few reasons for Baidu K station to be discussed over and over again (Baidu cramps are not considered). But for different sites, we should treat them separately. The following is the performance of the website on Baidu after the site cannot be opened.
At 9:00 on 2011-7-21, the site continued to be closed for one day (it used to be an independent IP host)
2011-7-22 8:37, the site was temporarily placed on the virtual host, the collection was normal, and the snapshot was taken on the 21st.
2011-7-23 The homepage of the site has been hacked, and all the inner pages are
2011-7-24 The number of internal pages on the site has been reduced to 2 articles
2011-7-25 5 articles included in the site’s internal pages
Through the performance of the above few days, I feel that this time is not a real K station, and it may be a relatively severe warning from Baidu. . In this regard, I analyzed several points on the site that may cause Baidu's plan, and took timely countermeasures.
1. Server space is unstable
At 9:00 a.m. on July 21, the site was forcibly closed without notice because it was defined by the space provider as "violating the policy" and lasted for a full day. I will not give any explanation for the actions of the space provider here. I just want to emphasize that we operate the website in accordance with our conscience and will not do anything that violates the laws of the country.
Doubtful point: The space suddenly cannot be opened. Could it be the trigger of Baidu K station? I can't be sure. After all, I had an example before where I couldn't open the website for 5 days, but the ranking was still strong.
Countermeasures: Temporarily placing the space on the virtual host is not a foolproof solution. After all, changing the space requires changing to a better space than before. Therefore, on the 25th, which is today, I purchased a VPS and placed the site separately.
2. Suspicion of over-optimization
According to Zac’s previous article on over-optimization, I think it should not be the case. The breadth of my external link anchor text is pretty good, and the external link has not grown rapidly in a short period of time. The internal link has both the anchor text of the homepage, the link address, and the link to the content page, which should be relatively natural.
Doubtful point: I made a nofollow setting for the entire site half a month ago. Could it be that the action was too big and triggered a certain nerve in Baidu? If it is really over-optimized, this may be the problem.
Countermeasures: Reset the nofollowed links to avoid the suspicion of spider crawling.
3. Bad 301 orientation
To avoid suspicion of advertising, just use A and B instead. A was a site with a very good ranking last year. Later, due to the purchase of a large number of gold links, Baidu reduced its ranking. However, there are still many quality external links, many of which are links to directory sites; and B, it was this time that it was K site. It is said that 301 redirection can transfer part of the weight, so in May this year, a 301 redirection was made from A to B. Coincidentally, the two domain names A and B were all Ked on the same day on the 23rd.
Doubtful point: Will B be affected by A being K? Because A is a site without any actual content. It only has a homepage that redirects to B's homepage, which does not provide valuable content to users.
Countermeasures: Immediately cancel the 301 direction from A to B.
The content is all original content carefully created by myself, and there is no suspicion of creating Internet garbage. I am sure of this. What I can do is to maintain the intensity of previous updates and let spiders come back with new content to crawl. In terms of external links, I will be more inclined to publish soft articles on A5 webmaster sites. I hope the website will have more exposure.
What needs to be emphasized is that webmasters must not give up easily when building a website. We must remain calm after Baidu K station. Although there are few examples of Baidu K sites coming back, if you think your site can provide everyone with valuable information, why not be patient? Maybe Baidu will be merciful this time?
