There was a tutorial before that introduced using a brush to make ink characters. The operation is a bit complicated, but it is very realistic. Using filters is relatively faster, but the layering effect is not as strong as pure handwork.
final effect
1. Create a new document of appropriate size and add some texture materials to the background. Then enter the required text, copy the text layer, and right-click to rasterize the text layer or convert it to a smart object.
2. Execute: Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, and set the parameters as shown below.
3. Execute: Filter > Distort > Wave, and set the parameters as shown below.
If it is converted to a smart object, click "Add Layer Mask" at the bottom of the layer panel, and click to select the mask. If you want to rasterize the text, ignore this step.
5. Hold down Ctrl and click on the thumbnail of the text layer that has not been operated before to bring up the text selection.
6. Select the menu: Select > Modify > Expand, the value is 3.
7. Press "Q" to enter the quick mask editing state (the periphery of the selection turns red).
8. Execute: Filter > Pixelate > Lattice, and set the size to 3.
9. Press "Q" again to exit quick mask and get the selection.
10. Press Ctrl + Shift + I to invert the selection.
11. In the rasterized text state, directly press the Delete key to delete. In the mask state of the smart image, fill it with black and adjust the transparency of each layer appropriately.
The layer reference and final effect are as follows:
