There are four different starting races in Alaloth - Champion of The Four Kingdoms, these include Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, and Elves. Across these four races, each offers various pros and cons making them unique in their own right. But to truly make your character shine, you must create a build that compliments their bonuses. So, here's a complete breakdown of how you can build your Elf character in Alaloth.
To capitalize on the bonus perks you get from being an Elf, the best class to compliment the character would be the Rogue class. It provides solid early-game damage which translates into even higher burst damage in the late game.
Here's each of the skills you should get, and how it can help you build a strong elven character:
Level | Skill | Reason |
---|---|---|
1 | Viper's Kiss | The first skill to unlock with your character. Requires you to have a dagger equipped to cast, but can help you deal good burst damage. Extremely useful in 1v1 situations |
4 | Phantom Blink | Let's you teleport behind any target and deal damage with an increased (+20%) Critical Chance. Again, very helpful for dealing burst damage to single-target enemies. |
7 | Rain of Razors | Your main AoE skill to help you deal with hordes of enemies. The better throwing daggers you have, the stronger this skill becomes. |
10 | Vanish | Let's you go invisible and when you attack an enemy while in this state you have an increased (+30%) Critical Chance. |
14 | Rogue's Apex | Unlocks the 'Ambush' trait for your character that provides an additional (+15%) increase in damage when you attack any target from the back. |
Along with these five skills, you can unlock one more skill which can vary based on your playstyle. If you want more damage, then 'Ring of Pain' would be a good choice as it buffs your damage while decreasing skill cost. For extra mobility, you can choose 'Charge' as your final skill as well.
Traits and Proficiencies are extremely important for building your character and both require Legacy Points to unlock. So, knowing when to unlock which traits and proficiency is key. Here's how should go about it:
Level | Unlock | Reason |
---|---|---|
2 | Evasive (Trait) | Increases your damage every time you dodge during combat, Can increase your DPS very fast. Essential for this build. |
3 | Dagger Proficiency | Provides extra (+5%) Crit Chance along with +15% Bleed Chance making your normal attacks much power. |
5 | Battle Trance (Trait) | Provides +25% Focus Regen letting you use more attacks and skills without having to worry about running out of juice. |
6 | Veteran (Trait) | Additional 10% Cooldown reduction to 'Way of Arms' skills which are your main DPS. |
8 | Defensive Streak (Trait) | Every 5 kills buffs you with Damage Reduction, providing you with more survivability. |
9 | Light Armour Proficiency | Makes your defense better, and improves Resistance and Focus Regen. |
11 | Ranged Proficiency | Makes your ranged attacks and skills more powerful. |
17 | Sword Proficiency | Extra +10% Crit Chance on every third attack and +8% Bleed Chance. |
Similar to Talents, Stats in Alaloth also require Stat Points which you get every two levels, with the maximum being 10 Stat Points at level 20. To get the best value out of these points, here's what you should use these points on:
Out of the four fighting styles in Alaloth, the best choice for your Elven character would be Dual Wielding. As the skills heavily rely on using daggers (both regular and throwing), choosing dual wielding allows you to start with two daggers, and also equip them later on in the game.
Moreover, Dual Wielding has the highest DPS across all other fighting styles based on normal attacks alone. The only downside is the lack of defense, which can be made up by recruiting companions to support your character.
There are seven different deities you can choose for your character in Alaloth. Similar to race, your deity also provides you with permanent buffs and debuffs. When choosing a deity for your Elf character, here are the top choices to consider:
Elves are the most nimble characters you can have in Alaloth. Because of their quick movements and high burst damage, they rely on quick successive attacks followed by dodges to recover Focus while maintaining distance between enemies.
