Although the blacksmithing profession is relatively difficult to master, there are still many plate armor professions that choose to learn it. Because this profession can forge lock plate armor equipment (purple parts), various melee weapons, and some special products such as mithril spurs to increase the speed of the mount, mithril shield spurs to increase the shield effect, etc. In that era when "black winds arose and commoners fell," many shamans chose to forge because they had semi-finished products of arcane axes and orange hammers.
There are also two major branches in the later stages of the blacksmithing profession: Weapon Master and Armor Master. After choosing the Weapon Master branch, three smaller branches appear: Sword Maker, Ax Maker, and Hammer Maker. In addition, the two organizations related to the blacksmithing profession are the Mithril Society and the Thorium Brotherhood.
First, we found guards in major cities and asked about the location of the forging profession (the red flag on the map), as shown in the picture below, taking Ironforge as an example. Usually trainers have professional providers next to them.

▶The following leveling guide is only a reference and is not rigid. You can make adjustments according to your actual situation to find the one that suits you best.
1~25: Make [Inferior Whetstone], Material: Inferior Stone 1.
26~65: Make [Inferior Grinding Wheel], material: inferior stone 2, don’t throw away the finished product, it will be useful later.
66~75: Make [Rough Whetstone], Material: Rough Stone 1.
76~100: Make [rough grinding wheel], material: rough stone 2. If there are not enough rough stones and it is not easy to increase skills with green, you can use copper chain mail belt/copper rune handguards. Material: 6 copper ingots. There will be alliance missions later that will require this.
101~105: Make [Silver Rod], materials: 1 silver ingot + 2 inferior grinding wheels. The silver rod is for enchanting, and the finished product can be sold in the auction house. At this stage, you can also make a few silver master keys and open the box yourself. Materials: 1 silver ingot + 2 inferior grinding wheels.
106~125: Make [Inferior Bronze Leggings], material: 6 bronze ingots. If there are any remaining copper ingots after smelting them, you can use the copper rune belt to charge them. Material: 10 copper ingots.
Alliance: In the Great Forge of Ironforge, find Bengus Deepforge (52.41).

126~150: Make [Heavy Grinding Wheel], Material: Heavy Stone 3. You can make bronze patterned wrist guards here (5 bronze ingots + 2 refined grinding wheels), which are needed for the Deserted Land mission and can be sold in the auction house.
Off topic: Skill 145 learned [Silver Scale Breastplate]. In a certain game animation, the magic stick hero shouted "blue quality, 5G one piece" for sale every day. The equipment attributes are okay, but getting the materials together is a bit troublesome.
156~160: Make [Gold Rod], materials: 1 gold ingot + 2 rough grinding wheels. Interested students here can make some gold master keys (Materials: 1 gold ingot + 1 heavy grinding wheel). Gold rods are used for enchanting. If the sales of gold rods in the auction house are good, you can make a few more.
161~185: Make [Green Iron Leggings], materials: 8 iron ingots + 1 heavy grinding wheel + 1 green dye. Among them, the green dye needs to be purchased from the tailor supplier or leatherworking supplier. Ask the Guard Tailoring/Leatherworking profession to find a location, there is usually a supplier nearby. The finished products can be sold at auction and given to relatives and friends. There are tribal tasks later that require this.
In addition, ask the trainer for skill 165 to learn [Green Iron Bracers]. Materials: 6 iron ingots + 1 green dye. You can use this to reach 202 and turn it into green.
186~200: Make [Golden Scale Bracers], materials: 5 steel ingots + 2 heavy grinding wheels. Students who don’t have enough steel ingots can use other recipes for iron ingots instead. For example, Green Iron Bracers (165).
Note: After the skill reaches 200, you can search for a blueprint: Mithril Rod. Materials: 5 mithril ingots + 1 gold ingot + 1 true silver ingot. With this recipe, you can save a lot of materials such as steel ingots. Only dwarf engineering can do this drawing. Rush to 237 and turn green. You can learn the Mithril Spur recipe when you reach 235. Because you will need a lot of mithril later on, try to save as much as possible.
If you don’t have the blueprint: Mithril Rod, just level up as follows.
201~210: Make [Solid Grinding Wheel], Material: Solid Stone 4. The finished product will be used in the next step. At this stage, a solid whetstone will be obtained. Material: Solid Stone 1. It will turn green at 205. 200-201, first go to the auction house to see the price of real silver bars, and then decide whether to do it. Materials: 1 true silver ingot + 1 heavy grinding wheel. True silver rods are also used by enchanters.
211~215: Make [Golden Scale Bracers], materials: 5 steel ingots + 2 heavy grinding wheels. Later alliance missions will require 6.
216~235: Make [Steel Helmet], materials: 14 steel ingots + 1 solid grinding wheel.
Alliance/Horde: There is a forge hut on the road near the exit of Booty Bay. Find the goblin Brick Kiklov (29.45). He only teaches the 275 Arcanite Rod recipe.

After the skill reaches 235, there are several drawings that are more critical. They will directly determine whether you spend 300g or 500g to learn forging... These drawings are: ❶ Design drawing: Mithril Spurs. ❷Design: Thorium Belt/Thorium Bracers. ❸Design: Thorium boots/Thorium helmet.
Go to the auction house to search first, the price should be acceptable. Later, there was a design drawing for the King series suit, which needed to be exchanged for Thorium ingots. Mining is not easy, so try to use them sparingly.
If there are blueprints: Thorium Belt/Thorium Bracers. You can use either of these two recipes to reach 280. And use the blueprint: Thorium boots/helmet, directly rush to 300. Among them, the red, yellow, and blue energy crystals used in the following design drawings were collected in Un'Goro Crater. It can also be purchased.
236~250: Make [Mithril Spurs], materials: 4 Mithril Ingots + 3 Solid Grinding Wheels.
251~280, make [Thorium Belt/Wrist Guard]. 250 to learn Thorium Belt, material: 12 Thorium ingots + red energy crystal. 270 turns yellow. It turns green at 280. 255 Learn Thorium Bracers, materials: 12 Thorium ingots + 4 blue energy crystals.
281~300, make [Thorium Boots/Thorium Helmet], 280 learn the formula of Thorium Helmet/Thorium Boots. Materials for Thorium boots: 20 Thorium ingots + 8 hard armor leather + 4 green energy crystals. Materials of Thorium helmet: 24 Thorium ingots + 1 ruby + 4 yellow energy crystals. The manufactured finished product belongs to level 51 equipment. It is sold in the store for 1 gold, 3 silver and 36 copper. You can ask your enchanting friends to help you remove the high-end FM materials, which can at least recover some of the cost.
Finally, reaching 300 in the blacksmithing major does not conflict with the subsequent branches, so first rush to 300, then study the advantages and disadvantages of the forging branch, and finally decide to choose the branch that suits you.
