What is sketch? Sketch is a monochrome painting using charcoal, pencil, pen and other tools to draw the light and shade of objects through lines.
Without further ado, today we will use the powerful functions of PS to "draw" a character sketch.

1. Open the PP girl photo and try to choose a simple character background. First duplicate the two background layers, as shown in Figure A
2. Select copy 2 and execute: Image—Adjustments—Decolorize; Filter—Others—High Contrast Preservation, as shown in Figure B

3. Adjust brightness/contrast to obtain the outline of the character. As shown in Figure C
4. Select copy 1 and execute the channel mixer. The parameters are as shown in the figure:
5. Go to Filter - Artistic Effect - Film Grain Processing, and set the parameters as shown in the figure.
6. Continue to execute Filter-Blur-Special Blur, the parameters are as shown in the figure
7. To further sharpen copy 1, select copy 2, set the layer to Multiply, and set the transparency to 41. (Note: Keep the details of the characters)
8. Merge layer copy 1 and copy 2, use the general burn tool to deepen the lines and shadows of the character's face, and the lightening tool to modify the highlights of the face.

9. It is recommended to enlarge the picture for easier processing, use the lightening tool to highlight the reflective points of the eyeballs, and deepen the overall hair.
10. The effect after processing is as shown in the figure
11. In order to be more realistic, the image is processed with paper effect.
Create a new layer and fill it with white, as shown in the picture
12. Go to Filter-Texture-Texture, the parameters are as shown in the figure
13. Then perform 4 curve adjustments, the parameters are as shown in the figure
