In today's tutorial, I will teach you how to use Photoshop watercolor brushes and paper textures to create a beautiful photo synthesis effect. You can apply the final effect to your own website.
Step 1
Open photoshop and create a new document. My setting is 1920×1200px.
Step 2
Add a new layer. Fill it with white, and then make sure the foreground color is white and the background color is black. Then click Filter > Texture > Texture. Use canvas texture, scale 75%. Highlight 3. The light source is upper right.
Step 3
Let's add a nice texture. You can use the kraft paper material we selected. Put the photo in the document. Then set the layer transparency to 75%.
Step 4
Okay, let's put the photo up. I used a photo of a person walking on the grass, the photo is from here. Place the photo below the texture layer you just created. Then use Layer>Group Layers. Select this group and go to Layer > Layer Mask > Hide All.
Step 5
At this time, the photo will be completely covered by the mask. Now we're going to use some watercolor brushes. . Select one of the brushes, use white color, and paint on the mask. You'll notice that the photo layers will slowly reveal themselves.
Step 6
Select another brush.
Step 7
Maintain the shape of the brush.
Select other brushes to continue brushing out different areas
Step 8
Now add another layer, above the photo layer. Then use the watercolor brush to paint a few strokes with different colors.
Step 9
Then add some color. Select the photo layer and go to Image > Adjustments > Photo Filters. Select the Warming Filter (85) and set the density to 55% to maintain brightness.
Step 10
Select the photo layer and go to Filter>Artistic>Dry Brush Effect. Brush size 0, detail 9, texture 1
Then put your logo on it and look, our final effect is pretty good. You can use it in web design or other applications. You can also reduce the transparency of the kraft material layer.
