First, select the picture you want to add a border to, import it into Photoshop, create a new layer, and set the background color to your favorite color. This background color will be used as the background color of the border.
In the new layer, use the Rectangle Tool to draw a rectangle smaller than the size of the canvas. After selecting the rectangle, select the Feather Tool and set the Feather value for the border. Here it is temporarily set to 10. And select the Orientation Selection Tool to select the area outside the rectangle.
Then you can choose Filter-Sharpen to sharpen the objects in the picture to get a clearer effect. After finishing the filter, click the Q key to exit the quick mask editing state. Select the reverse selection tool, and the reverse area will appear. Select the Delet key to delete this area, and a prototype of a cute little floral border will be generated.
Select the Stroke tool to add more color to the border. In the Stroke dialog box, you can set the color and thickness of the stroke you like. Click OK to complete the stroke.
At this point, the cute border is basically completed. Finally, just use the eraser tool to erase the floral pattern in the center of the picture. When erasing, you can erase the border into various shapes according to your own preferences.
