This article takes the AuthenTec AES1610 fingerprint reader as an example. The operation is similar to other models. Steps to use the fingerprint recognition function:
(If your computer has already installed the fingerprint recognition device driver, please skip steps 1-3).
1. Click Start, All Programs, Windows Update, and click the Check for Updates button.
2. Select the detected fingerprint recognition device driver and click the Install Update button.
3. Please refer to the on-screen prompts. After the fingerprint recognition device driver is installed, you need to restart the computer.
4. After the computer restarts, click Start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Biometric Devices.
5. Click Manage Fingerprint Data.
6. Click the finger icon that needs to be set and enter the Windows account password.
7. Follow the on-screen prompts and place your finger on the fingerprint reader to scan the fingerprint information.
8. After the fingerprint scan is completed, log out of the computer and log in to Windows by scanning your fingerprint.
