Everyone says that there are many opportunities on the Internet, but it seems that it has become increasingly difficult to build a website in recent years. In the circle of webmasters, everyone is paying more and more attention to website analysis. So what is website analysis?
When I first started building a website, I didn’t quite understand it. I read a lot of articles from so-called big-name blogs, but what they said was completely unclear. Do I need to be so academic when building a small website? There are also those statistical indicators, PV, IP and so on, which are easy to understand, but the bounce rate, exit rate and so on are not so clear. Later, I gradually started to get started. Let me talk about my feelings. The website is like a supermarket. It needs indicators to see how many people (unique visitors) have come and which door (entry page) they have come through. Most of them I watched something (more PV), mostly bought something (successful conversion), and left through which door (exit page). In this way, I will know my next move. For example, if I know which door most of the visitors who finally bought things came in from, I will post more promotional advertisements at that door (and do online promotion from sources with more subsequent conversions). .
But there is one thing that is a bit confusing. I can only look at one or two indicators to solve the problem. It feels like I have a headache and a pain in my head and my feet, and I always feel that something is wrong. There are too many statistical indicators, such as page views (PV), number of visits, number of visitors (UV), number of new visitors, new visitor ratio, IP, bounce rate, average visit duration, average number of pages visited, number of conversions, and conversion rate.
Later, Baidu Statistics upgraded to a "landing page" report, which analyzes landing pages. The purpose of this report is not particularly surprising, after all, GA already has this dimension. But what I want to say is that the unique analysis design of this report gave me new ideas. Baidu Statistics’ access report groups all the indicators mentioned above into categories to help webmasters do targeted analysis. For example, there is "Conversion Analysis" contains the pages with the most conversions. The indicators include PV, conversion rate, and number of conversions. And there are instructions above telling me how to view this conversion data:
1 Number of visits: The number of sessions on your website for visitors entering from this entrance.
2. Number of conversions: The number of times visitors entering from this entrance reach the conversion target page. The higher the number, the greater the contribution of this entrance to website conversion.
3. Conversion rate: It is the ratio of the number of conversions entered by this entrance to the number of visits. The higher the number, the higher the conversion efficiency of this entrance.
Oh, by the way, I work in e-commerce, and conversion is an order, which is real money. Of course, I have to think about it carefully! Through the "Conversion Analysis" of Baidu Statistics, I know how to evaluate the entry page from the perspective of conversion. Yes, there is also the source of this entry page. I want to analyze why there are so many conversions and whether I can extend the advanced experience to other entry pages. In this way, more conversions will be made and I will be richer. Ha ha. We also need to analyze those entry pages with few conversions. Is it because the design of the entry page is not good, or is the source of this entry page not strong, or is there any trouble before conversion after passing the entry page? . If these problems can be solved, there will definitely be more conversions.
The conversion analysis mentioned above, Baidu Statistics also has other services, such as traffic analysis, new visitor analysis, attraction analysis, etc. I think they are all worthy of careful study. What do you think of cnzz and GA after working on the website for so many years? Traffic tools such as Baidu Statistics and Baidu Statistics are very important, but more importantly, you need to know how to look at indicators. This way, the analysis can be more directional, and the traffic can be better utilized. Of course, real money is not a problem.
