Guest profile:
Lu Songsong graduated from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He established his first website in 2004 and officially entered the webmaster field.
An independent blog was established in 2009. It is a well-known IT independent blog focusing on the Internet, websites and marketing. After more than two years of operation, it is one of the few independent blogs in China that has entered the 10,000 Alexa rankings and PR6. It is also one of the independent blogs with the largest number of blog post comments and the most active users.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Hello everyone, welcome to Lin Xige's 41st interview program with famous Internet figures. Tonight we are very honored to invite webmaster Lu Songsong, one of the famous Internet bloggers, to be a guest of Lin Xige.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Okay, regarding the introduction of the guests, I will reveal a few sets of data here: Alexa comprehensive ranking is within 5,000, Chinese website ranking is 500, blog PV volume exceeds 30 million, has been reprinted by paper media, each article The number of comments is more than 300, and the Google PR value of the blog is 6. The source of these data is the breakthrough made by the blog of Lu Songsong, one of the famous Internet bloggers we invited tonight. Without further ado, Hello, Songsong Webmaster, Let me say hello to everyone first.
Lu Songsong: Hello everyone, I am Lu Songsong. Thank you Lin Xige for giving me this opportunity. Let me also briefly introduce myself. I am a Sichuanese living in Beijing. In 2004, when I was in college, I started to get in touch with the Internet. At that time, I became a moderator of a regional forum. Later, I independently established a forum on the Internet using DVBBS. From then on I embarked on the path of website construction because my university at that time was the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, where I studied computer management and applications. The school was in Chengdu at that time, and I also worked in Chengdu for a year, also designing the front desk of the website. I returned to Beijing in 2007 and opened a company with some friends. Later, due to various reasons, I left the company. Later, the work I did had little to do with the Internet.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Regarding your own blog, in addition to the several data involved in our promotion, Brother Lu, can you give us a few sets of data to let everyone see the height that our personal blog can reach.
Lu Songsong: The host also talked about several sets of data just now, haha! At present, the daily IP address of Lu Songsong’s blog is around 5000-8000, which is actually not very high...
Dugu Xiaomeng: Regarding blogging, maybe all the people present who have their own blogs are not as good as Brother Lu. The number of views on Lu Songsong’s blog has exceeded 30 million! what do you think?
Lu Songsong: I have said this on Weibo before. Generally speaking, I am more worried than happy. Compared with Han Han’s blog, it is still far behind, because I was very excited when the PV exceeded 10 million. , but later I felt that it wasn’t that big of a deal, especially now that it has reached 30 million, which is also a phased goal. The main feeling is that the blogging program I use is a bit weak, but this is not a big problem. Regarding the database, I can still improve its shortcomings...
Dugu Xiaomeng: Songsong just mentioned worries. Besides worrying about the database, what else do you worry about? Why don’t you consider switching to the WP program?
Lu Songsong: Actually, I am worried about the database. I have considered changing it before, but I may not be familiar with PHP and am more familiar with ASP. It would be more convenient to change something by myself. WP is very powerful, but for me For example, ZBLOG is enough.
Dugu Xiaomeng: As the blogger of one of the independent blogs with the largest number of blog comments and the most active users on the Chinese Internet, what has this blog brought to you?
Lu Songsong: What I think is that when I started blogging, there were no comments, that is, some friends would comment. Later, when there were more and more comments, people would ask, "Why haven't you updated it yet?" So blogging became me. a habit. Gradually, I started to have more friends, and I also got some income from advertising on my blog.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Haha, I guess everyone also wants to continue to understand some of the methods of building, promoting and marketing our personal blog, so let’s start from the simple to the deeper. Everyone is familiar with blogs, but if you ask what blogs do you use? Why are you here? In fact, many people will be confused. Here, I would like to ask the webmaster Lu Songsong, what do you think the blog is for you?
Lu Songsong: For me, blogging is a kind of accumulation of skills, and it is also a kind of life diary, recording work, and showing one's own functions. Later, I think that as you do it, you will find that the independent blogging circle is It's a very small industry, one that few people value.
Dugu Xiaomeng: You said it yourself, this is a very small industry, why do you continue to spend so much time on it? What was the positioning like at that time?
Lu Songsong: There was no positioning at that time. I just wanted to make a record of my work at first. You should also see that my previous blog posts are all life-type diaries, recording some work, and now they are all written for readers. Such a form.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Is Lu Songsong your real name? Why does the blog also use this name?
Lu Songsong: Because I registered several domain names at that time, including the domain name of my name; Lu Songsong is my nickname, because the domain name of my name was registered as early as 2000, so I registered it using my nickname. At that time, it was an idea of protecting names and domain names. It was useless to register the domain name of my own name and leave it alone. Later, I saw that Mou Changqing and Jiang Likun all used their own names to create their own blogs, so I followed their example and created this blog.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Do you write all the content in your blog yourself?
Lu Songsong: Regarding the convenience of content, 90% of it is written by myself. Of course, there are some parts that I did not write by myself.
Dugu Xiaomeng: I have been doing this since 2009. Did you ever think that this blog would bring you such great gains? What is your original intention for blogging? What is it that keeps you going?
Lu Songsong: When I started blogging in 2009, I didn’t think too much about how well-known it was and how high the traffic was. In fact, it was just to record some of my life. At that time, some blogger friends often asked me to write things. When others start a career, they become very anxious. At that time, I had no income and no good data. I mainly wanted to draw a pie for myself and envision a bright future for myself. Now I have a certain amount of income from my blog. I also met many, many friends, attended some gatherings and the like, and had many friends who were engaged in the Internet.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Having said so much about your own blog, besides Lu Songsong’s blog, has Brother Lu ever operated any other projects? What is the effect?
Lu Songsong: I have told you before that my main business is not in the Internet, and it has nothing to do with the Internet. My blog is my only contact with the Internet, and I am also doing some other things. Of course, I am also quite busy myself. Apart from blogging, I am not working on other projects.
Lu Songsong: When I started Songsong Software Station, it was entirely for my own needs, because I had a lot of good tools and software that I had used. At that time, I thought, there was no place to put it, so I put it directly on the blog. I didn’t even think about how to make money or how to develop these things, so I just thought of serving blogs.
Dugu Xiaomeng: For blogs, can Brother Lu talk about the development routes of blogs?
Lu Songsong: Regarding the development of blogs, the first one is success, and the second one is failure. There are two types of successful blogs. After success, they will transition to other businesses. The typical ones are like "Awa's Home", and now Mou Changqing also started blogging, and now he has 28 tweets; the second one is a successful blog, and he is still persisting in it, such as the current Moonlight Blog, which has been blogging for 7 years, so it is successful in the IT industry A relatively well-known independent blog; there are many reasons why blogs fail, but I think they all have one thing in common: they give up as soon as the passion is over...
Dugu Xiaomeng: Haha, have you ever thought about transforming and building a new site?
Lu Songsong: Well, I have had this idea, but I am always alone. If I am working on a website, it is really too busy for one person, because I am doing my own work and also have to do some Internet work; I have also tried I will build other sites by myself, such as the mobile webmaster site, but it is still in the testing stage and everything is still being explored, haha...
Dugu Xiaomeng: Weibo is also very popular now. It is more timely and faster for Weibo. Brother Lu, do you think Weibo will one day replace blogs? What do you think blogging will look like in the future?
Lu Songsong: I think it is basically impossible for Weibo to replace blogs. Weibo is actually a product extended from blogs. It has some ideas and wants to become stronger and bigger. Such people want to go out independently, so I think Weibo is It is impossible for blogs to replace blogs, and Weibo and blogs will coexist; if Weibo needs to be done by one person, it is basically impossible for the current national conditions, so the only choice is to rely on others, such as Sina and Tencent; and the profit model of relying on others , I have also known cold jokes before; only powerful grassroots people can make money, and they are generally regarded as a distribution center for news and advertising.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Now many people are talking about blog marketing, blog marketing. Lu Songsong’s blog has marketed you. Brother Lu, do you think this is blog marketing?
Lu Songsong: Actually...how should I put it, this is a kind of self-marketing. Marketing yourself out without products or services is like a college student looking for a job and coming for an interview. It is a kind of self-marketing. Once you market yourself out, From now on, when you do other things in the future, it will be more practical, such as the use of some resources, sponsorship support, and more simply, exchanging links, it will be very easy.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Regarding the promotion of blogs, Brother Lu must be one of the most vocal people. Do you personally think that in order to promote blogs well, what resources should we prepare first? How do we promote it?
Lu Songsong: When I was blogging, I didn’t have much resources. The only resources were some websites and web pages accumulated from my previous work. But for promotion, I didn’t use them too much. I think the most important thing is I hope that everyone will get to know themselves, position themselves well, and develop one aspect or skill that they are best at.
Dugu Xiaomeng: You must be familiar with blogs like Wang Tong’s blog and Moonlight Blog. What do you think is their biggest highlight? For example, I personally think that Wang Tong’s biggest highlight is the addition of on-page text marketing to his blog. His books and training are very good.
Lu Songsong: I personally don’t pay much attention to Wang Tong, but I am more or less familiar with it. I think his method is similar to a popular one in China called EMBA training, which is to gather a large number of high-end talents to do The purpose of this training is to set the threshold and form a circle. Once a circle is formed, it will become a high-end network, which is similar to this. Regarding Moonlight Blog, I think the reason why he is so good is that he always adheres to his principles. As he said himself, he is focused, professional and single-minded. I think another important reason is his persistence. , it seems very simple, but if you want to implement it yourself, it is still very difficult. I understand this deeply. Most people who are focused, professional and single-minded can still do it, but those who insist on this part Very few. Before this, most of the people who blogged with me at the same time have switched to other things. I think this is the difference between an excellent independent blog and an ordinary independent blog.
Dugu Xiaomeng: What is Songsong’s plan for the future?
Lu Songsong: I think the Internet will continue to develop in the future. As for what to do, you still need to make specific adjustments based on your work and life. I haven’t thought about long-term planning carefully, but this industry will definitely continue, and blogging will be the same; after all, this is also an accumulation of knowledge. Even if I don’t do online promotion in the future, I will switch to online marketing. , you can also write about your work, experiences accumulated in life, insights and so on.
Dugu Xiaomeng: Okay, this interview has come to an end. Brother Lu, can you summarize this interview and give some advice to all newcomers who are new to personal blog promotion?
Lu Songsong: Okay, I am also a novice. From my point of view, the first thing is to be able to endure loneliness, have traffic, and have income. You have to know that this cannot be done in a day or two. The important thing is not to change careers after three to five months and do something else; for example, if you decide to be an independent blog, continue it forever; like some SEOERs and what some seniors say, although most of them are theories, only if you accumulate enough Only to a certain extent can you understand the meaning of these words; of course, you can get to know the Internet through your blog and get to know more Internet connections, so that it will be easier and more comfortable for you to work on other projects... …
Summary: The interview with webmaster Lu Songsong will end here. The above is only the text version of the first session. For the second and third sessions, Xiaomeng has brought you the download of the full recording.
