The original purpose of my blog was just to record my life and work! In every sense of the word, a blog is nothing but a voice. Later, I got the first readers, the first people who could read the blog from beginning to end. All of this happened out of the blue, and although I don’t want to admit it, the fact is: now this blog is writing more and more for the readers (you). Below I have summarized some detailed methods for writing for readers.
Appearance is everything
When you start a blog, remember that "appearance is everything." A wall of text alone will not attract attention. To build a blog, you need to perform artistic processing on the blog log, including using blog post illustrations, text layout, charts, and other visual enhancements. For effect elements, the effect will be better if the web page template is modified.
Keep it tidy and focus on key points
Writing style is very important. I read a newspaper two days ago and said that short words or stories are more attractive. Don't ramble or deviate from the topic. A blog is not a formal article, let alone a book, so there is no need to drown readers in a lot of irrelevant information. I have also written an article before about "A Brief Talk on Blog Layout", which provides a detailed introduction on how to layout blog text. Due to the flood of information these days, most people will skip reading articles instead of reading the entire article. Therefore, you can use bold fonts to emphasize key parts. For example, each paragraph of content in Lu Songsong's blog will extract some key points, bold them and start a new line. After I finish writing the article, I will publish it the next morning and do a proofread, which you will find is a very good practice. Every blogger has his or her own style, and you can adapt that style based on your own habits and user feedback.
Don’t be a lonely blogger
Don’t be stingy with your external links, link to external resources appropriately, even a single link is okay. Don’t worry about PR and weight. Through these links, over time you will find that you have established a strong network and people will notice you. .
Use attractive titles
The title is very important. I have summarized two common title writing techniques: First, write the title in official language. For example, I once wrote "Look at the Foxconn Jumping Incident from a Different Angle". It is very vulgar and official. This type of title gives people the feeling that You are "nonsense", but in many cases this kind of title is necessary. If it is done well, there will be a lot of traffic from search engines.
Second, poetic and picturesque titles, such as "Youth" written by Han Han, also talks about Foxconn. Such titles can easily attract readers to read, giving people the desire to click on it and want to know what is said in it. But without a certain amount of readers, this title effect will be counterproductive.
Rewrite “how to” articles
The blog itself provides a wealth of information, but most people who come through search engines are eager to know how to do something and won't pay attention to the specific details of how to do it unless they are very interested. Remember, never skimp on the information you know as this allows the reader to read and learn more. Even if you tell others everything you know, you are still the expert because you have direct experience and people will still come. Visit your blog. What I hate the most is articles about earning 10,000 yuan a month, but when I click on them I find no information at all.
Regularly updated content attracts readers
If you can't guarantee to update your blog every day, then it is a good idea to update it regularly. To tell you the truth, my main blog is usually updated every morning on 1, 3, and 5. Some people know my update frequency, so I will update it every week. In three days, the number of visits to my blog will be higher, and they will be willing to come and check it out regularly. By publishing specific content on a certain day, you can give users a sense of anticipation, and more successful featured content will gradually attract more readers.
listen to readers
There is a column on my Weibo called "Others Look at Me", which contains some articles written about me. To be honest, I am very willing to repost some articles that are pertinent and even criticize me or slander me. It is not because I want to bear the infamy. The purpose of doing this is to remind myself at all times and analyze what I did wrong. Everyone is living with a mask, don’t blame me for pretending to be a human from a demon step by step.
If no one has written about you yet, be sure to read their comments to find out what they think about your blog, and use the feedback as suggestions. For example, some comments on Lu Songsong’s blog account for more than 20 posts. Obviously, this kind of comment Chatting makes it easier to get pertinent advice. So please cherish every comment.
Don't give up on readers
In July, I couldn’t update my blog for two things. One was that I notified everyone when I went to Guangzhou, and the other was that I didn’t notify everyone about my vacation at the end of the month. Now I will feed back the two results to everyone for comparison: after I informed them, everyone understood what I had been doing these days, and everyone commented enthusiastically when I came back. In the past few days when I was not notified of my vacation, many people thought I had disappeared unexpectedly, and they did not insist on visiting my blog.
Summary: Write for blog readers. Every reader who opens a blog hopes to have a readership, but the reality is the opposite. No matter how hard you try, you will never have a regular readership. I think the most important reason is that the "details" are not done well. People don’t want to read cold official text, and they don’t want to get no news after leaving a message. What a joy it is to let readers find their true thoughts and know the methods? If you think about it carefully, when I am for others, everyone will be for me. I summarized these details and hope they are useful to everyone.
