How to Use
- Install the Summary Extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Click on the extension icon in the toolbar.
- If you want to summarize a specific part of a web page, select the text and click on the extension icon.
- View the formatted output summary.
Getting Started
To use the extension, you'll need to have a GPT-3 API key. You can sign up for an API key on the OpenAI website. Once you have your API key, save it to the Extension:
Installation Guide
- Clone or download the repository to your local machine.
- Open Google Chrome and navigate to the Extensions page.
- Enable Developer mode by toggling the switch in the top right corner of the page.
- Click on the "Load unpacked" button in the top left corner of the page.
- Navigate to the repository folder on your local machine and select it.
- The extension should now be installed and can be accessed from the Chrome toolbar.

- Visit the Chrome Web Store page for the SummarizeIt extension.
- Click on the "Add to Chrome" button on the top right corner of the page.
- A pop-up window will appear, click on "Add Extension" to confirm the installation.
- The extension should now be installed and can be accessed from the Chrome toolbar.
Note: In order to use the extension, you will need to obtain an API key for the GPT-3 API. You can obtain an API key by following the instructions provided by OpenAI here.
