The editor of Downcodes learned that Apple is actively developing new Apple Intelligence functions for iOS18, iPadOS18 and macOS15 systems. The first batch of features are expected to be released with the iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 updates, and Apple is also intensively preparing for the next wave of feature upgrades. This update will bring the integration of Siri and ChatGPT, as well as a new camera feature called Visual Intelligence, giving users a smarter and more convenient experience. Let's look forward to the arrival of these exciting new features!
Apple is working hard behind the scenes to prepare to add new Apple Intelligence features to iOS18, iPadOS18 and macOS15. We'll get the first features in the iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 updates, but Apple is also preparing for the next batch of features.
MacRumors has discovered new references to Siri's ChatGPT integration as Apple prepares to implement ChatGPT support. The Siri code mentions options for ChatGPT-generated text and ChatGPT-generated images, two features Apple plans to implement soon.
ChatGPT's integration with Siri is part of the Apple Intelligence feature set highlighted at WWDC, which Apple plans to launch by the end of the year. ChatGPT integration is not in the current software Apple is testing, but we expect it to appear in iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2.

With ChatGPT integration, when users ask Siri a complex question that the personal assistant can't handle, Siri will suggest handing the query over to ChatGPT. ChatGPT will provide relevant information and deliver it through Siri.
ChatGPT will be able to generate text and images, and while Apple Intelligence includes some of the functionality, ChatGPT is more advanced. For example, Apple's writing tools can provide spelling and grammar help or change the tone of already written content, while ChatGPT will be able to generate text from scratch with simple prompts.
In addition, Apple is also developing another AI feature, Visual Intelligence, which is an iPhone 16 feature that uses the camera control buttons. iPhone 16 users will be able to point the camera at surrounding objects or locations, and when the camera control button is held down, the iPhone will provide information about what is being viewed.
iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 are expected to be released on Monday, October 28, and we will likely get the first beta versions of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 shortly after. If testing follows other .2 updates, the software will be released at some point in December.
In addition to ChatGPT integration and Visual Intelligence, iOS 18.2 can also support the Image Playground image generation function, Genmoji and Image Wand (a feature of the Notes application for generating images from text or basic drawings).
All in all, these artificial intelligence-based features that Apple is about to launch will significantly improve users’ experience on iOS, iPadOS and macOS systems. It is worth looking forward to! The editor of Downcodes will continue to pay attention to and report on relevant progress.
