USM filter processing
Let’s first take a look at Figure 1. This photo of a person looks very blurry. Details such as the hair and sweat on the body of the person in the photo cannot be clearly seen. It is difficult for such a photo to attract everyone’s attention. What we need to do is to use PhotoShop's USM sharpening filter on such an ordinary photo.
After opening the image in PhotoShop, open the Layers panel, select the underlying background layer in the Layers panel, right-click, select "Copy" to make a copy of the layer for the photo, and set the layer's mode to "Soft Light" . Select the copy layer and use the "USM Sharpen" filter in "Sharpening" under the "Filter" menu. In the filter settings window, the "Amount" and "Radius" parameters affect the clarity of the image. The larger the value, the clearer it will be. The higher the degree, the "Threshold" parameter does not need to be considered. Set the "Amount" and "Radius" values according to the specific conditions of the image to determine sharpening (Figure 2).
Next, select the "Mode → LAB Color" command under the "Image" menu, select the "Flat" layer in the pop-up window to confirm, and merge the two layers into one layer. Return to the layer panel, make a copy of the merged layer, switch the panel window to the "Channel" interface, see that the "Brightness" channel has been added to the layer channel (Figure 3), select this Then use the "USM Sharpening" filter in "Sharpening" under the "Filter" menu. This time the value of the sharpening parameter can be smaller to sharpen this channel.
