This tutorial is just an experiment to imitate a Nike ad, not an actual Nike ad, as I really like their ads and would happily design one for them one day. In this tutorial, you'll use image blending modes and color adjustments to create a cool Nike ad.
Final effect:
first step:
Open Photoshop and create a new file. The size I used is 1920×1200 (pixels). After that, select the background layer, open its blending options, select Gradient Overlay, the colors I use #150b06 and #321c0f, linear, and the mode is normal.
Step two:
Create a new layer and use Filter-Render-Clouds. Please note that the foreground and background colors are black and white.
Step three:
Change the layer mode of this layer to Color Dodge, you will see the following effect
Step 4:
Select the eraser, choose a soft brush, set the hardness to 0, and make it larger. Smooth out some areas, leaving the middle.
Step 5:
Get a Nike logo, get one online or draw one yourself. Place the logo as a new layer and turn on its blending options.
Use the color #fffde2, Mode is Color Dodge, Opacity is 80%, Expand is 18%, Size is 18 px, and Range is 71%. (These parameters can be changed according to actual effects)
Step 6:
This idea is a tip given by my friend, it will be helpful to complete our creative idea, you can download it here
Step 7:
Crop the next area, place it in your document, rotate and adjust the angle and size until you're happy with it. Then change the layer mode of this layer to Screen.
Step 8:
Open the color levels and add some light and dark areas to better blend with the background.
Step 9:
First use Ctrl+T to reduce the size, and then use Transform (Edit-Transform-Transform) to make it conform to the curve pattern of the logo. Simply put, it is more natural and integrated.
Step 10:
Go to Hue Saturation and change them as shown in the image
