Color effects are a matter of opinion. Different people have different preferences for different themes and emotions. What is shown here is a personal preference and does not represent any standard!
Original picture
1- Soft pastel shades:
Step 1: Convert the picture to be processed with light tone to "Lab color" (the post-processing of the previous picture is not included here) -
Step 2: Click the "Lightness" layer in the "Channels" panel, then Ctrl+a (select all) → Ctrl+c (copy) -
Step 3: In the "History" panel, click to go back to the step before converting to "Lab Color" -
Step 4: Ctrl+V (Paste), paste the "Brightness" layer copied in the previous step as a new layer -
Step 5: The most critical effect step is to adjust the "Opacity" of the newly pasted "Brightness" layer to 80%, then merge the layers and you're done! (Of course you can also continue to adjust based on this)
2- Translucent high-key black and white:
For MM's delicate and lovely skin, except for the brightness channel in Lab mode, any other black and white will look harsh and dirty, unless MM wants to give her face a soot effect.
Operation: Image→Mode→Lab Color, then go to the "Channel" panel, click on the "Brightness" channel, Ctrl+A→Ctrl+C→Ctrl+N→Ctrl+V to get the most transparent gray image, and then Just brighten or darken depending on the actual brightness (this picture adds a 28% "color filter" layer effect).
