This tutorial describes how to use Lab color to create a transparent purple black and white effect on the picture, and the final picture is very soft.

1. Open the material picture, select the menu: Image > Mode > Lab Mode, enter the channel panel, select all the brightness channels, copy it back to the layer panel, paste it, add a layer mask and use a black brush to erase the character part.
2. Create a curve adjustment layer, adjust the brightness channel, and set the parameters as shown below.
3. Close the eyes of layer 1 and curve adjustment layer 1, select the background layer, create a curve adjustment layer, and adjust the a and b channels.
