This tutorial introduces how to make a transparent gauze scarf. Many tutorials have introduced how to create ribbons and other similar effects before. Basically, they use defined brush patterns and then use stroke paths to create them. However, this tutorial can be completed using paths and brushes. The method is more time-consuming but the effect is more realistic.
final effect
1. Create a new 800 * 600 pixel file, fill the background with black, then create a new layer and use the pen tool to outline the path shown in Figure 1.

2. After pressing Ctrl + Enter to convert it to a selection, enlarge the selected area appropriately, then select the brush tool, select a soft-edged round brush, set the opacity to: 10%, as shown below, and then start to slowly paint the upper part of the selection , when applying, keep your hands steady and apply as close to the selected area as possible. Use a large brush to apply the large color block first, and then use a small brush to apply the highlighted parts on the edges.

3. The upper part should be roughly painted, and the white highlights should be even. If you are not satisfied, you can add more work.

4. Start applying the lower part with the same method. If you are not satisfied, you can apply it a few more times. The approximate effect is shown in Figure 5.

5. Create a new layer, and then use the pen tool to draw the path shown in Figure 6. When the path is drawn, it is best to have a connection effect with the previous path.

6. Enlarge the part and apply white highlight according to your preference. The effect is as shown in Figure 8. Through these two steps, you should understand how to make the gauze scarf. The general process requires dividing the gauze scarf into many small pieces for coloring, and connecting each piece well. In this way, the gauze scarf has more details and feels more realistic.
