The material pictures in this tutorial are a bit blurry, and many parts of the hair and face are overexposed. Processing this type of image requires patience to slowly repair the distortion. It is best to master some basics of mouse-painted characters. This makes processing faster.

1. To process the background part, open the original image and create a curve adjustment layer. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 1, and the effect is as shown in Figure 2.

2. Create a hue/saturation adjustment layer, set the parameters as shown in Figure 3, and check the coloring option. The effect is as shown in Figure 4.

3. Create a new layer, press the letter "D", return the front background color to the default black and white, and then execute: Filter > Render > Clouds. After confirming, press Ctrl + Alt + F to strengthen it, and then change the layer blending mode Change to "Overlay", the effect is as shown in Figure 5.

4. Create a new layer, select the gradient tool, set the color to a black and white gradient, and then pull out a black and white linear gradient from top to bottom. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to "Multiply". The effect is as shown in Figure 6.

5. Create a hue/saturation adjustment layer. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 7, and the effect is as shown in Figure 8.

6. Duplicate the background layer, press Ctrl + Shift + ] and move it to the top of the layer. Add a layer mask and erase the background part with a black brush. The effect is as shown in Figure 9.
