Effect:
1. Open the character close-up picture.
2. Press CTRL+J to copy the background layer to obtain layer 1. Set the mode to Screen. The picture will look much brighter and the skin will become much whiter.
3. Then add a mask to layer 1, click the icon at the bottom of the layer panel, and select the layer mask (there will be a white border when selected)
4. When the mask is selected, execute Image-Apply Image. Now the light and dark parts are out.
