This tutorial is for character sketching! The characters in the picture are my grandmother and baby. The difficulty of the whole work is to grasp the outline of the characters, as well as the color and excessive processing of the characters, which involves some perspective and the processing of many details.
(Supplement: Many people ask me how long it took me to make this picture. Here I tell you frankly that it took 2 days to make in my free time, which adds up to about 8 hours. It is relatively slow. I always do it. stop for a moment)
Final effect:
1. Drawing of outline. First use the pen tool to outline the approximate proportions of the character.
2. Then use the pen series tools to repeatedly adjust the outline of the character until you are satisfied with it (Note: It is difficult to draw the outline of the character. You must grasp the entire proportion through constant observation and analysis, and you cannot draw it numbly, otherwise will affect the effect of the entire work)
3. Color the characters. The main purpose is to distinguish the relationship between the color blocks of the entire work, which will make us more intuitive and lay the foundation for the next step.
4. Treatment of baby’s eyes and eye area. Fill the eyeball part with black, and then use the burn/dodge tool to draw the highlight of the eye (note: the highlight of the eye is not always a white highlight. We can analyze it. If the other person looks at a certain object, then the reflection in the other person's eye Of course it’s the object, so take that into consideration when drawing)
5. Drawing of baby’s nose. Set the foreground to an appropriate color and use the brush combined with the burn/dodge tool to paint the nose.
6. The method of drawing the mouth is the same as that of the nose, but the emphasis must be placed on the light and shade processing.
7. Drawing of baby’s ears. Use the Pen Tool to outline the inside of the ear. Adjust the foreground color to a suitable color and use the burn/dodge tool to blend.
8. Draw the baby’s red cotton coat. The drawing methods are similar to those of drawing facial features. You use the same tools back and forth. The most important thing is to see how to express them.
9. Drawing of grandma’s eyes.
10. Drawing of grandma’s nose.
