The author's mouse paintings are very delicate, all aspects of the characters are made relatively realistic, and the details are also handled relatively perfectly. It may seem like a simple work, but it may take more than 10 hours. You must be patient when painting.
This tutorial introduces how to colorize daily photos. The author is very meticulous when making it. From the background to the characters to the overall decoration, the author carefully beautifies it one by one. And every step is explained in detail. This is a very good tutorial.
Original picture
final effect
1. Modify the background and open the original image. In order to express the contrast between the characters and the background, the background needs to be processed on a large scale. Use the Patch and Clone Stamp tools in your toolbox for background remediation. The overall effect is shown in Figure 1:
<Figure 1>
2. The transition of background brightness and overall color need to be corrected. Duplicate a layer, name it "Color Correction", and perform automatic color levels, automatic contrast and automatic color in order. The effect is as shown in Figure 2:
<Figure 2>
3. Create a new layer, name it "Color Filter", use the shortcut keys AIT+SHIFT+CTRL+E to stamp the layer; change the layer blending mode to "Screen", and then change the layer opacity to 50% , the overall brightness of the picture is enhanced, the effect is as shown in Figure 3:
<Figure 3>
4. Character processing, stamp a layer as "skin processing", select Gaussian blur, radius value 3.0, hold down AIT and click the mask button, then the mask will appear as a black mask instead of a white mask, and the picture It will become very clear, as shown in Figure 4:
<Figure 4>
5. Click on the black mask, use a white brush to carefully paint on the character’s face, and set the opacity value to 70%:
<Figure 5>
6. Observe the relationship between the light and the character. The highlights, midtones and shadows of the character's eyes, nose, mouth and face all need to be adjusted, stamped with a layer and named "Light Processing". The tools used include the pen tool, burn and dodge tools, as well as blur and sharpen tools. The first is the eyes. It is necessary to increase the brightness of the eye circles and pupils, and increase the brightness of the highlighted part of the eyes. Use the pen tool to select the eye circles:
<Figure 6>
<Figure 7>
7. After the shortcut key CTRL+ENTER, the closed route becomes the active selection of the ant line. After the feathering is fast, the radius value is selected as 1. Compare the selection after feathering with the selection before feathering. The selection after feathering has changed significantly. It has to be smoother. As shown in Figure 9:
<Figure 8>
<Figure 9>
8. Use the burn and dodge tools to carefully paint the eyes:
<Figure 10 Before processing>
<Figure 11 After processing>
9. Use the burn and dodge tools to carefully smear the eyes: before burning and dodge, use the burn and dodge tools to adjust the value and brightness of the character's face, and then use blur, sharpen and smear Tools for small-scale modifications:
<Figure 12>
10. Stamp a layer as "Hair Treatment", select the smear tool to smear the hair, and select the intensity to 10%:
<Figure 13>
11. Add eyelashes to the eyes, create a new blank layer, shortcut key F5, the brush preset dialog box will appear, click "Brush Tip Shape", select the appropriate eyelash brush, and place the brush at the appropriate position of the eye. Click once, as shown in Figure 14:
<Figure 14>
12. Use the same method for the other false eyelashes and adjust the opacity of the eyelashes to 90%. As shown in Figure 15:
