Let’s start making:
1. Open the Photoshop software. We are using the CS version here. It’s the same with other versions~~~
Open the prepared material image and copy this image three times.
There are four layers from bottom to top, named background, first copy, second copy, and third copy. (These three copies will be used at the end, so don’t worry about them for now~~~)
Figure 1
2. Use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to draw an irregular selection on the material picture or use the Pen Tool to draw an irregular shape and fill it with color (here it is filled with #008caf). Name this layer Glass.
This is the glass we are going to deal with. Feel free to draw as long as the shape resembles broken glass! It’s easy to draw~~
After painting, adjust the opacity of the glass layer to 75% and fill it to 30%. The effect is as shown below.
Figure 2
3. This step is relatively long, let’s do it bit by bit~~~ This step is to make the three-dimensional shadow of the glass, so we first need to make the three-dimensional edge of the glass.
· Create a selection of glass. Hold down Ctrl and click on the glass layer with the left mouse button.
·Enter the Channel panel and create a new channel. Name it "Glass Selection".
·Go back to the Layers panel and create a glass selection again. Still holding down Ctrl, click on the glass layer with the left mouse button.
·Click any selection tool and use the arrows on your keyboard to move the selection down 8-10 pixels.
·Click "Select"-----"Load Selection" in the menu bar, select "Glass Selection" in the new window that pops up, and then select "Subtract from Selection" below. Click OK.
When you complete the above steps, you can see that you now have the lower left and lower right parts of the glass selected.
Then use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to fill in the missing parts of the lower left and lower right corners (hold down the shift key to add a selection, or you can save the current selection to a channel, and then fill in the remaining loaded selections and merge them).
Okay, the selection of the shadow part below is done. Create a new layer and fill the irregular selection with the color (#008caf). It is still the same color as the glass, but the opacity is adjusted to 75% and the fill is 90%.
We call this layer shadow under glass.

4. After learning the above step, this step is easy. This step is to make the three-dimensional feeling that the top of the glass is pressed.
Reverse the above step, first move the glass selection down by 8-10 pixels, and then save it as the glass move down selection.
Create a glass selection again, load the selection, select the glass and move it down to the selection, and click "Subtract from Selection". Sure.
Fill with the same color.
Adjust the opacity to 35% and fill to 40%. The three-dimensional glass is now ready~~ Adjust the details below.
We call this layer the shadow on the glass.

5. Next we add a style to the shadow layer under the glass we created in the third step. The blend mode settings are as follows:
