Create a new Photoshop document, I used 580 x 300px at 72 pixels/inch. Be sure to set the background of the document to white so that you get a white background fill effect.
Select the Type tool and drag a text box covering most of the document (as shown). Set to a color of your choice (I used #679027). There is also a size of about 10px, depending on the font you choose.
Go to Lipsum.com and generate a piece of lorem ipsum text. Copy and paste until your frame is filled with seamless text.
Create a new blank layer. I'm going to use the custom shape tool, select the question mark shape and drag it so that it fits over this text that I've created. I used black fill. Of course, you can use any shape you want to appear over the text.
With the current layer selected use Layer > Create Clipping Mask or use the shortcut ctrl+alt+G (windows) or Command + Option + G (mac). This will turn the clipping object into text and only show the letters within it giving us the illusion that we are just changing the type of color. We can then repeat this step and step 4 as many times as we wish to add more objects.
