This image introduces the use of PS to create a stunning three-dimensional crystal effect. The final effect is mainly achieved through 3D transformation filters and layer blending modes. Try the combination of these two tools and you will have unexpected gains.
Let’s look at the final effect first
Production steps:
1. Create a new file in Photoshop with a size of 500*500 pixels. Then create a new layer named "Cube", then execute Filter - Render - 3D Transform, and make a cube as shown below.
Next, use the trackball tool to drag out the following shape and click OK as shown.
2. Create a slightly larger canvas (1024*768 pixels recommended), or set the original image size larger. Fill the background with black or a darker color,
I use black. Make a copy of the background layer and name it "black".
3. Create a new layer in this new file and name it "cube", then copy and paste the newly created cube above into the newly created large canvas. Duplicate the "cube" and name it "Airflow". As shown in the picture.
4. Apply the Radial Blur filter on the "Airflow" layer and set it to: Amount 100, Blur Method - Zoom, Quality is Best, press CTRL F and repeat about 3 times.
Place the "cube" layer on top of the "airflow" layer and make a copy of the "airflow" layer. Now set the blending modes of the "Cube" and lower copy of the "Airflow" layers to Overlay and Hard Light respectively. As shown in the picture.
