This tutorial involves a lot of process, but the production is not too difficult. It is basically completed using material overlay and brush tools. Not much color grading and detail processing. Maybe that's what makes this effect special. A lot of decadence and splatter brushes were used in the production, you can download them online.
renderings
1. Open the grungy texture image in Photoshop, which we will use as the background for the car advertisement.
2. Duplicate the background layer, set the layer mode to Multiply, and the transparency: 80%. You will see that the image becomes darker:
3. Make another copy of the background layer and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+B on the keyboard to bring up the black and white adjustment window of the image. The parameter settings are as shown in the figure below:
4. Keep the layer mode as Multiply and adjust the opacity of the layer to 90%. The effect is as shown below:
5. As shown in the figure below, add a vector mask:
6. Click the mask icon, select a large soft-angled brush, and paint it in the area shown in the picture below. You will see that this brings some color changes. Now we have a light source coming from the upper right corner. The brush size and application direction are shown in the figure below:
7. Or: You can also add a gradient fill layer to the upper part of the picture. The parameter settings are as shown in the figure below:
8. Set the gradient layer mode to soft light and opacity to 80%. The effect is as shown below:
9. Add the car image, use the Pen Tool (or any other tool you like, but using the Pen Tool will benefit you later) and draw a working path as shown below:
11. Use an eraser to clean the edges of the car: (if the car you picked out is not ideal), see the picture below:
12. Name the layer as car layer, and set the layer mode to Multiply. The effect is as shown below:
13. Duplicate the car layer twice. In the car 1 copy layer: Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur, Radius: 2.5 pixels, see the picture below:
