I saw some lotus tutorials from some friends these days, and my interest suddenly came to me. I also made a lotus painting. By the way, I also wrote a simple tutorial.
Rendering:
To be honest, after I finished this picture, I really didn’t know where to start when writing the tutorial. Because there are too many layers. After much deliberation, let’s start with the petals, haha. . I only selected one or two petals for explanation.
In fact, some experts have written tutorials about lotus before. I'm also trying to do some tricks here. Please give me your advice.
As for creating a new canvas, I won’t talk about it. These are the most basic things. Just add the background color of the canvas according to your preference. I will go directly to the steps:
Step 1: Create a new layer. Name it (Petal 1). Let's start by using the Pen Tool to draw our first petal. Then convert it to the selection fill color of #ff6699. You can also add colors according to your own preferences. Then use the Burn and Dodge tool to add light and dark tones on appropriate parts of the petals to make the petals look textured. Lower the exposure of the Burn and Dodge tool. Use multiple applications with small exposures to achieve the desired effect. Look at the picture below:
Step 2: Create a new layer. Name it (Petal 2). The petal painting method this time is similar to the previous one. Only when processing the inner outline of the petals, select and apply with the Burn and Dodge tool to get the effect of painting petals. The specific method is: use the pen tool to outline the outer outline of the petals and fill it with color, and then use the pen tool to outline the inner outline of the petals to create a selection. In the selected area, use the Burn and Dodge tool mentioned above to add light and dark tones to the petals and process some details of the petals. Look at the picture below:
Step 3: Create a new layer. Name it (Petal 3). This time I drew double petals. The method is to first use the pen tool to draw a large petal using the selection method above, and then use the selection tool to draw some small petals inside the large petal (pay attention to the order.) Please see the picture below for the approximate order:
