The renderings of this tutorial are very grand, but good-looking ones require a certain amount of technology and time. The author didn't have many materials in the synthesis, but it was extremely difficult, and many parts had to be completed by hand.
final effect
1. Sketch matching:
First open a new file in PS and set the size according to your own preferences. Here I chose 810X1130 pixels. Place the material with the tree of life at the bottom; then use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to outline the part of the "Tower of Aion" material, place it on the tree, and use CTRL+T to resize it to adjust the perspective relationship. As shown in Figure 1:
2. Background cloud production:
First create a new layer under the "Tree of Life", adjust the foreground color to "82B6CE" and the background color to white, then execute Menu - Filter - Clouds, and then press CTRL+F several times until the cloud layer is thicker That’s it. As shown in Figure 2:
Then execute the menu - Image - Adjustment - Color Balance, make the blue a little heavier, or adjust it to your favorite sky color. It should be noted that this step is more important. What color you choose will directly affect the next "life" "Tree" is a step in coloring, so be sure to choose colors in this part.
3. Integration of the tree of life:
Select the "Tree of Life" layer, use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to outline the upper part of the layer, then feather it to 18 pixels, and then press the DELETE key several times until it feels integrated with the background, as shown in Figure 3.
4. The production of the Tower of Eternity and the flying light:
Let’s make the Tower of Aion here. The color grading part will be done after the entire sketch is completed. First, use the polygonal lasso tool to outline the "Tower of Eternity" part, press CTRL+J, and then turn off the original layer of the tower to get a separate outline of the tower. Then feather the edge of the tower by 1 pixel to make it non-jaggy. So obvious; then execute the menu - Image Adjustment - Hue/Saturation, select blue, reduce the blue on the original material, press CTRL+T to control the direction of the tower, and pay attention to the perspective relationship of the distant view, as shown in Figure 4.
5. Production of flying light:
According to the setting of the original game, the "Tower of Eternity" is a pillar that maintains the balance of power in the game world. In the game CG, the tower appears to emit light, and there are some fragments called "Oder" flying around the tower. .
Create a new layer, then select the brush and adjust the brush to "wet edge" so that the edges can blend more with the background in the next blur step. Use a brush to draw the white light around the tower according to the example in Figure 5-1, and then execute the menu-Filter-Blur-Motion Blur. The angle is 90 degrees vertically, and the size is adjusted according to the actual situation. As long as the light around the tower has vertical Just feel straight; as shown in Figure 5-1.
